I also make my own patterns but love the detail which is important to me and proper fit. I am sorry to say your patterns are very difficult and I have been making 18" doll chothes for almost 20years. The purse I feel is to small for me to work with.
I have recently purchased several patterns and, can't wait for some time off from work when I can digress and, get cracking on doll clothes for the grands. Love your stuff.
I found the instructions a little difficult to follow and the size difficult to sew the finishing purse to the purse lining in the machine. I got it done, but it was difficult. I enlarged the pattern to 130% and found that to be easier to sew. I was able to sew in the strap with the purse and the lining which I thought worked out better. The size of the 130% purse is still great for the 18 inch doll. I also sewed Velcro on the purse front and under the flap for better closure, then sewed on a flower embellishment to cover the stitching on the purse flap. Though it took a while, I am very satisfied with my modifications. Hope this is helpful for future sewers.
This purse is pretty cute, when finished. Instructions are clear and concise, just like other LJC patterns, so it's easy to follow along. BUt this purse is definitely for an intermediate sewer, that has a lot of patience for tiny seams and details!
This little purse is really cute and can be made with small scraps of fabric left over from whatever you have made for your doll. I love the pattern, and the directions are clear.
