I was so happy with the results of this pattern! So cute and easy to follow instructions.
easy to follow instructions, finished jacket in about 45 minutes, is just the look I was looking for.
2 comments. 1. She shows sewing the side seams before the collar, but when you get to the dollar ( next step) the side seams are open. I prefer to do the collar before the side seams, so I moved those pages back. 2. I like lined jackets. Especially since I embroidered the jacket with team and girls name and want to hide the backing. Would be very easy to add directions for lining the jacket as an option.
The pattern has instructions for using 3/16" paper brads for a snap look as shown on the pattern cover so even those intimidated by putting in snaps can have the look without the hassle.
I bought this pattern a while ago because I loved the style and then put off making it because of the snaps (I didn't like putting on snaps). I bought a Babyville Botique Snap Pliers and some snaps and made 2 jackets. The pattern was so easy to follow and they turned out so cute, I've made 20 more! The challenge was in learning how to put the snaps on-once I figured that out (and I did make a few mistakes the first couple of times), but once I got the hang of it, it became routine. This jacket has become one of my favorite patterns, it fits both the American Girl size doll and the Bitty baby doll (15 inch baby dolls) and the sky is the limit with using your imagination with it.
