Freebie Friday (July 8 2016) Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

On Friday (July 8 2016), we'll have one of the following patterns available for free from Cinnamon Miles. It's our gift to you. Vote now and then come back to Pixie Faire on Friday to download your free copy and while you're here be sure to pick a new pattern or two, get some fabric, or join a class.

More About Cinnamon and Liberty Jane Clothing: Cinnamon is the co-founder of Liberty Jane Clothing and Pixie Faire. She's also the co-founder of Sew Powerful, a charity focused on combating extreme poverty through sewing and tailoring programs. She strives to design on-trend clothing made to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl® and other doll types too. Help us decide which one of these fun patterns should be free by voting below.

More About Each Pattern:

The Liberty Jane Bubble Skirt Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Liberty Jane Bubble Skirt PDF Pattern can be made from either knit or woven fabric.  The waistband fabric should have some stretch. The skirt is designed to fit above the knees. This 9 page PDF sewing pattern provides full color step-by-step illustrated instructions and full size pattern pieces. A PDF reader is required to view and print the files (example: Adobe Reader or Preview for MAC). The download link is received immediately after the transaction is complete.

The Liberty Jane Pleated Skirt Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Liberty Jane Pleated Skirt gives you a fun and trendy look. In terms of sewing difficulty, this is an intermediate level pattern, with instructions and pictures layed out in a way that a beginner sewer can understand. You can make a pleated skirt in an hour or two, then once you’ve learned how to do it, you can make dozens of fun skirts for your 18 inch American Girl Dolls.

The Liberty Jane Harajuku Skirt Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: Harajuku is the street fashion of Japanese punk rock influenced youth. Their inspiration is anime, and album covers, and their mecca is the park next to Harajuku Station in Tokyo. Liberty Jane has translated this fun style into a cute 18 inch outfit, Harajuku Station, and now you can make this fun mini-skirt quickly and easily.

The Liberty Jane Mini Skirt Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: Classic mini skirt style! If your AG Doll doesn’t want to wear a classic denim mini skirt, we’d be shocked! Have you asked her lately? Is she permanently stuck in 1774? Maybe you should let her out, just for an afternoon! If you take her to the mall, she’s going to see Hollister, then you’re going to be in big trouble. She’ll never want to put that long dress on again. It’s your choice of course, but we think she might like it! And the best part of course, this fun mini skirt is simple to make. Once you learn how, you can do dozens of variations with different colors and fabric styles. Two skirt styles are included - a simple straight front seam and a bit more intricate "hook front" seam. The skirt is designed to have a tight fit and it's recommended to use a thin stratch denim to create a result like the ones pictured.

Finding the perfect fabric can be a lot of work! Be sure to check out our growing collection of Pixie Packs, hand selected by Cinnamon, which include a variety of fabrics and notions - perfect for sewing doll sized items!

Take a look at each pattern:

We'd love to hear your opinion - which one of these fun patterns should be free? Leave a comment below with your opinion! And be sure to leave a comment and thank Cinnamon for offering these free patterns.

I am going to choose the MINI SKIRT Guidebook this time. I may be wrong, but the Harajuku skirt looks easy to make. We will see on that. I am not a professional , so I may be wrong. I love the bubble skirt, but I already have the pattern. Not much help this week, I’m afraid. sorry about that.

I am a huge fan of Scottish kilts and pleated skirts. They are so adorable for school uniforms, or Steam Punk outfits, or long Celtic Princess costumes and the huge safely pin goes well on the edges to keep them closed. Great accessory. Lassie!

I voted for the mini skirt. It is so cute and would look great in different fabrics. However, it was a hard decision to make. When I was younger my mother made me a box pleated skirt. The fabric chosen was to make the colors pop when the pleats opened up. It was my favorite. I received many compliments every time I wore it.
