I have two quick tip videos to share with you today. Both of these were either asked by a member or suggested as an idea. I am always amazed at the many uses and added efficiency these accessories can offer!

In the first video, follow along in the tutorial video posted below as I show you how to address the challenge of a seamed ruffle and the narrow hem foot. In the second video, follow along as I demonstrate using the button sew on foot to attach buttons over a hook and look tape closure.

Quick suggestion…..When saving your video’s to my computer I would like them to be saved not in name order but in the order they appeared in the class. So, I add a letter + a hyphen to the “Save As” name and then they appear in alphabetical order in the class folder. Because some of the lessons build on other It is nice to have them in classroom order. I do enjoy the classes and renewed my subscription for a second year. Best wishes for your continued success.

Thank you so much for the narrow hem foot quick tip on handling the bulk when crossing a seam with this foot. You solved the problem nicely. Very helpful. I think as long as I have been following blogs his is one of the first times someone has actually answered one of my questions. You are great teacher.

I loved all the videos – a great help.

I bought a new sewing machine – YAY!

LOVE the 1/4" foot, the edgestitch foot and ESPECIALLY the invisible zipper foot. I’ve sown in invisible zippers previously with a regular zipper foot and never satisfied – but this one really works. I was so happy when you showed in your video that it doesn’t really work well with a regular zipper foot. I always thought I was the problem!

I need more practice on the narrow hem foot, but your last video with tips is a big help!

I also appreciate the overlock foot, as I don’t like using my serger on doll clothes.

The only foot I’ve had problems with is the button sew on foot, but I’m wondering if they gave me the wrong one for my machine. I’ve sown on buttons for years with my old machine, but I simply can’t install the new one on my new machine! I need to contact my sewing center for help as it doesn’t want to go on.

GREAT course – as they all are, Cinnamon!
Looking forward to see what the new topic will be.

I added the ruffle foot and the narrow hem foot after watching the videos. In sewing doll clothes there are so many patterns that call for ruffles and all have narrow hems. I think these 2 feet will greatly speed up my sewing time. Next, I may get the button foot after sewing on 8 tiny buttons yesterday.

I loved the course, Cinnamon. I learned how to use my buttonhole foot and my button foot, and I bought and used an invisible zipper foot after seeing that video. I also bought the stitch in the ditch foot which I have used a few times since too. I would never have tried any of this without your videos. The only foot I ever used to use before was the overcast foot, apart from of course my standard sewing foot. Thank you and can’t wait to learn something new next month!

I have so enjoyed these last two months of presser feet. Seeing how the ruffler foot works opens new adventures. I have a machine that will work with it perfectly ! I’ll be pulling it out of the closet and set it up just for ruffles! The edging foot has bee I challenge I have now conquered!
Thank you so very much for the Sewing With Cinnamon program! It’s such a wealth of knowledge all in one place that I use every time I sew.

I have some of the feet you covered, and it is really nice now to feel like I know where to start with them even though I don’t have time to try at the moment (I burn your videos to DVDs so I can watch them in future when I’m ready). The ruffler foot video has made me decide I must save up for a ruffler foot ASAP! It looks like so much fun to play with, and would make gathering evenly so much easier! I have a feeling I would use it a lot. Can’t wait to see what next month’s topic is!

I read a tip online a while back when using the narrow hem foot, lift the fabric up slightly in front of the foot as it feeds through. The fabric feeds through more consistently and you have better control. I tried this and found I had better results and ease of use doing this.

I especially liked the video on the invisible zipper. I bought the foot and have put the invisible zipper in the back of some of my dresses and love the look. It just puts a really finished look to my projects.
