I was really please with this dress. It fit perfectly. I had no problems making it. It looks great!
Love, Love, love this little dress. I have already made several using ready made trim and will try my own trim next time. Thanks so much for the freebie pattern that somehow I had overlooked before. Just love it - easy, fast and perfect fit.
My overall experience was frustrating. This is a 47 page pattern. I don't like to print the whole 47 pages as I feel it's a waste of paper. I typically only print the summary of sewing instructions since I am a fairly experienced sewer. I decided to sew Option 3. So Option 3 starts out ok, preparing the sleeve ruffles. Then it says complete Steps T-1 - T3 in the lining Tutorial. Well, this is not on my summary of instructions or if it is, it is not numbered T-1 - T3. So I have to go back and pull up the pattern to find Steps T1 - T3. Next step after adding ruffles to the bodice is complete Steps T4 - T11. I have to go back and pull up the pattern to find these steps. Then complete steps 7-8 on page 18. I have to go back and pull up the pattern AGAIN to find these steps. Then after overlapping the bodice you complete steps 23-34 from Option 1. I guess I should have just sewed Option 1 instead. Very frustrating. I like the dress but I don't recommend the pattern. It was not a pleasant experience. I usually love the patterns from Pixie Faire but I cannot recommend this one.
This is indeed the dress for all girly girls. The pattern is well written and extremely clear. I had so much fun sewing with this [pattern, that I made 3 different versions. To view how they turned out, go to AdollablebyRita on Etsy.com. This will certainly give you ideas and trust me, you can't go wrong with this pattern!!!
I made this dress using a small flower print. This pattern takes a little longer than most. However, it turned out very nicely. The fit was excellent.
