This 1830s dress features a crossed pleated bodice that is set in a narrow waistband. Fitted upper sleeves drop gracefully from the fashionably low shoulderlines. A full lower sleeve spills from the pleated edging of the upper sleeve and fastens at the wrist with a snapped cuff. The full skirt is pleated at the front and gathered in the back. The dress closes in the back with three buttons along the bodice and a snap at the waistband.

I love the historical details on this dress! It is an involved pattern but the result is worth it. Pay attention to the pictures and written directions and it will turn out well.
This is a lovely dress. I did have problems with the bodice on the first one. One the second one, I allowed a little more fabric. Overall I am pleased with the result.
This is a complicated pattern and some steps are glossed over without any illustration. We wish that all of this designer's patterns came with photographs instead of illustrations. The drawings just do not provide the clarity needed to get the desired result. Very disappointing for expensive (for us) patterns.
I love the details, and fit of this pattern! I went slowly with constructing the bodice, and it did turn out to have a nice fit on all of our household's dolls. This pattern is great as long as every measurement is properly followed. This is not a good pattern for a rushed project.
This dress has details that make it so beautiful. Carefully following the directions results in a lovely result.
