The cloche hat is a fitted, bell-shaped hat for women that was invented in 1908 by milliner Caroline Reboux. It became very popular during the 1920s, but continued to be seen well into the 1930s. The word cloche, is derived from the French word for "bell".
This lovely lined hat PDF pattern, by Eden Ava Couture, includes two variations, but it is made from the same pattern pieces!
This hat will fit 13-14.5" dolls such as Les Cheries®, Hearts for Hearts® or WellieWishers™.
-1/4 yard of wool, velvet, velveteen, or linen for the crown
-1/4 yard velvet, velveteen, satin, or linen for contrasting brim (if you choose to make the brim contrast. The instructions do not show a contrasting brim.
-1/4 yard of cotton for the lining
-Purchased ribbon, trim, or embellishment
Optional: Medium Weight Fusible Interfacing (If you are using a thinner fabric, such as linen, you can fuse medium weight interfacing to the wrong side of the crown pieces for more stability.)
