This dress turned out quite beautiful but the method of attaching the bodice & cape separately may be quite difficult for a young girl to understand how to put it on. I sent it to my 5 year old niece’s daughter( who is out of town) for Christmas & I’m expecting a call on how to put it on her doll? I have made the McCall’s Elsa dress for a young girl & it has a slight opening in the top edge of the back cape, this would make it easier to put on the doll. Overall, beautiful dress but definitely for an experienced sewer.
I bought the pattern several years ago, never knowing how many times I would use it! I've made at least 20 snow queen gowns for grand daughters, but mostly for private Christian School auctions and they have been donated and auctioned off and blessed the education of young people! I always get rave reviews! Thanks for making such a wonderful creative pattern. My most recent donation was a wedding dress made from the pattern!
I made the winter snow queen outfit. I did adjust the pattern to have a removable cape, but that was strictly my idea to put a fur trimmed cape on it. Beautiful dress!!
Very difficult pattern. I am definitely an advanced sewist with over 60 years experience, including some tailoring. It was hard going. Instructions are not really clear in many places. Close up photos often don’t show the context, like what exactly is being photographed. The results are beautiful; happy to show a pictures of a pink and a blue snow queen. But it was many more hours than I expected and lots of seam ripping to get it right.
