The Art Deco Dress pays homage to the Art Deco style of the 1920s and 1930s in a fun new way. Trims are the focus of the design and a variety of looks can be achieved using various prints, trims or color schemes. Tiny sleeves are made on the bias and provide an extra bit of contrast detail. This dress, designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®, is partially lined and features a hook and loop closure. This PDF sewing pattern features three views. One uses 1/2” wide single fold bias tape, while the other two use 3/8” or 1/4” wide ribbon or trim.

I made 2 of the 3 views that are included in this pattern. Each was so fun! I felt like I was unlocking my inner artist as I worked. The directions in the pattern are excellent. Every one of the dkinkey patterns that I've sewn has taught me a new sewing technique or at least given me the reason behind why it is done. It's like getting a sewing lesson and an art lesson in one great pattern!
