She flitted about, arranging chairs, laying out silverware, folding napkins. Today was the opening of the snowdrop festival -- and while it was too cold to have the party outside, she had filled vase after vase with the delicate flowers. Her dress, with its tiny green dots, matched perfectly.
The Snowdrop PDF Pattern features a fun two-tone color scheme-- the perfect opportunity to showcase a fabulous trim! It's fully lined, sports a sheer yoke, and closes neatly up the back with an invisible zipper and a hook and eye. And, for the ultimate quality experience, Snowdrop's unique construction method leaves no raw edges exposed. The Melody Valerie signature bow graces the back of the yoke as the perfect finishing touch.
-3/8 yard fashion fabric

-1/4 yard lining fabric

Skill Level: Easy/beginner. You will need the basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine and be familiar with sewing straight seams. Snowdrop looks gorgeous in a mid-weight cotton, but would also work well in linen or even a lightweight corduroy, with lightweight cotton or poly for a nice lining.
You could use almost any sheer for the yoke, but if you are a little nervous, we recommend starting with a crisper sheer like silk or polyester organza. More confident seamstresses could get great success with chiffons and georgettes.

I made this dress in a teal taffeta, and a teal mesh top, beautiful, just beautiful. Easy to put together and loved the totally hidden seams inside.
The pattern is beautiful. The fit is what sets Melody Valerie patterns apart. I think the use of zippers is what allows her patterns to have the great fitting shape which her patterns are known for. I, however, was afraid of zippers in doll clothes. I sewed my very first zipper in a doll size using these instructions. Invisible zipper, with an invisible zipper foot. No problems. First time. I was so excited. Thanks for the sewing lesson!
This pattern was good. The instructions were good. The dress fit the AG doll really well. I would suggest using light to medium weight fabrics. I used a heavier satin that still worked but made for a bulkier skirt. I made 4 dresses and would use the pattern again. I added ribbon belts and bows.
Excellent pattern . Goes toogether quickly. Lots of possibilities for unique trim and styling.
This pattern was well written and the instructions for the invisible zipper we excellent.
