The Melody Valerie Couture new girl dress PDF pattern is our take on the quandary of the new girl. It’s demure, a little old-fashioned – but it offers fabulous design possibilities, like the flame appliques on the skirt, the three small mismatched buttons marching down the front, and the little bits of topstitching that waltz across the dress. This lined dress has darted raglan sleeves, dramatic appliques on the skirt, just the right amount of contrast on the fully lined bodice. It closes up the back with invisible zipper and features bias facings on the sleeves. It is designed to be made from rayon, wool flannel, lightweight suiting material, or lightweight sateen fabrics. Standard poly or rayon blend lining; sheer or lightweight accents.
-1/3 yard fabric
-1/8 yard contrast fabric
-1/8 yard lining
-one 7-9″ invisible zipper
-three buttons – 1/4″ to 3/8″

Made this one twice both in different black and white themes. Really nice. Added a simple little ribbon belt at the waist. Pattern instructions are detailed but easy to follow.
lOVE IT Happy to get to a different dress pattern, great addition to the doll wardrobe thanks
This is a great pattern and it really comes out beautifully. I love that there are no exposed seams except the very back. It's easy to convert for Velcro closure for those afraid of zippers. The hardest part is the sleeve binding, but it still works out just fine. Lots of opportunity for customizing styles within the one pattern to make lots of different looks.
Thanks. Enjoyed this one
