Excellent. Thje instructions were easy to follow, and the result was an adult shirt in miniature, I did widened the sleeve tabs and the front bands a little as my buttonhole attachment had trouble with the narrow ones.
I love that this shirt has all the same details as a full size version! The continuous lap is not for the faint of heart, though! I was able to upcycle a men's dress shirt that had been stained to make one of these shirts with some fabric left over. I did find the shirts a little tight. I definitely printed at the correct scale and have a lot of experience with PDF patterns. I'll have to figure out how to make it looser.
Overall I was happy with my purchase. I only had one issue about the sizing. My AG doll must be a little bigger than these patterns as I seem to have to make two before I get the sizing correct. They all seem to run a little small. I couldn't get the bottom of the shirt to come together with a button unless it was really tight. I made a second shirt larger with a pleat in the back. This added an extra inch which made a huge difference. I loved the little collar stand. I added a tiny little breast pocket and put a little kerchief. Overall a very nice easy to understand pattern.
Hi Gayle, Please be sure that you are printing all of our patterns at "100%" or "Scale None ." Our patterns are designed to fit newer AG Dolls, as older AG dolls tend to be chubbier, and many of our patterns may not fit them well. You can refer to our doll measurements page to see a chart that can give you a better idea of the differences of the measurements https://www.pixiefaire.com/blogs/doll-tips-and-tutorials/7733479-doll-measurements
Cutting the pattern was very confusing, there were no grain direction lines on the smaller collar pieces. Directions were a little hard to follow for the style I chose to make. I had to keep going back and forth looking for the next step while sewing. I was very satisfied with the finished product however.
I thoroughly enjoyed making the long sleeve shirt and am looking forward to the other versions as well. I had never done anything this advanced before (I thought the cuff would be impossible but I did it!) The instructions are excellent and I am pleased with the finished results. Definitely a classic.
