I enjoyed making this Dress form. It went together easily and looks great. My Granddaughter loves it, playing 'Dress Shop’.
Looking forward to making this dress form for granddaughter to display her dolly dresses. Directions are clear and easy to understand.
I found the sewing very simple and easy. The 3 star rating is due to the fact that if made according to the directions it would be for display only and not for frequent use. The directions specify gluing the jewel or knob at the top directly to the fabric, and gluing the dress form onto a candlestick. This would never hold up to much use. My husband and I cut the base out of 1/4” plywood, drilled a hole in the center and put a small dowel through from the top, drilled into the candlestick and glued. Then we glued the wooden ball to the top of the dowel. It seemed very sturdy and looked great.
Great! What did I ever do without the dress form? I work with dolls of all sizes, and now, with the dress form it is so easy to fit the dress or blouse to the particular doll without having to fuss with the doll. And, I don't mess up the doll's hair trying it on her so much. Once again, a big 'Thank U' Pixie Faire for making sewing for dolls so much easier for me.
Pattern pieces worked well although I wish you had put a dot where shoulder seam should stop. Pattern went together easy. Not sure my base is strong enough for kids but it will be great for me. The waist measurements matched the doll. Next time I’ll use a different base because I used small 7 inch wooden candlestick. Thanks for doing the hard work for basic pattern. I also sewed a 1 inch basting line on bottom so I’d know where to stop stuffing and where to turn onto cardboard insert.
