Finally—an overall pattern for 18” dolls that really fits*! This versatile PDF pattern is loaded with options for customization: shorts with cuffs, full-length pants, an easy elasticized waist, a contemporary drawstring waist with real grommets, and two separately drafted patterns for straps that offer the choice of using commercially-made purchased buckles or button-covered snaps.
All versions of the basic overall feature pants, a waistband, a front bib, and an option for straps—but the rest of the choices are up to you! Make them as simple or as detailed as you wish: you can add topstitching, working pockets (cargo, jean, and a front bib pocket), a back bib with straight or rounded strap ends using overall buckles or buttons, and an easy elasticized waist or a fully functional drawstring waist. Suggestions are also given for straps using ribbon and “D” rings for an even simpler solution.
Mini-tutorials and sewing tips are also embedded in the pattern. You’ll see how you can substitute buttonholes for grommets, learn an easy method to sew and turn rounded strap ends, and find many links for locating supplies. The research has been done for you—you just get to have fun sewing!
Not suitable for fabrics with a one-way print because of the overall straps.

I loved the final result, although I had a hard time sorting through the many variations the pattern offered and mistakenly found myself on the path to the wrong option. But I was still happy with the result - the overalls are very cute and they fit well. Be careful with the straps - I carefully finished them with beautiful rounded ends and then found out that they were WAY too long.
I love the pattern. It was easy to follow and fit perfectly.
Easy instructions. They turned out adorable
great pattern and perfect fit. I see that the designer originally had an option for side buttons...could that option be added back in For the shortalls, side buttons would be really cute. Goes together well, though I changed the order of a few of the directions such as putting the front pocket on before the lining and used Jean style front pockets.
