This beautiful dress will have your doll ready to hit the Red Carpet or be part of the fashion scene with Tokyo Libby and her friends. The dress pattern includes two variations - The ruched bodice (featured in Blossom and Red Carpet Runway) and the simplified bodice shown left. Both variations feature a bubble skirt and lace underlay which create just the right statement to captivate her audience and make her feel special. This dress design has an invisible zipper in the back with hook and eye closures along the underlay but also includes instructions to finish the back opening with velcro.
It was featured in the Liberty Jane Clothing Fall 2010 Tokyo Libby Collection as well as Red Carpet Runway which was sold in limited editions quantities in 2008-2009.
Suggested fabrics include taffeta, satin and silk dupioni. The underlay needs to be made using a stretch lace or stretch mesh to achieve the proper fit and look. If using the simplified bodice, the underlay can also be made from a basic knit or knit rib. For a more adventurous look, try layering a sheer organza over a solid fabric! Have fun creating your beautiful Blossom dress!
This dress pattern is a great base for many modified styles. A few examples would be to swap the underlay to be an overlay, or sew the skirt to the bodice without creating the bubble, simple let it hang free from the lingin along the hemline.
