Our French Quarter Day Dress has a classic 1850s silhouette, with dropped shoulders, narrow waistline, and full gathered skirt. View A features a front bodice overlay, jewel neckline, and satin ribbon trim. View B has a gathered bodice inset, band collar, and soutache braid trim. Both views have short cap sleeves layered over fitted undersleeves. The skirt has a deep hem allowance and two rows of "growth tucks". The instructions for trim placement were slightly vague, but came out lovely both times. Highly suggest using washable glue or Wondertape to hold down the narrow trims and hems while sewing.
Expertly drafted pattern with loads of detail. I love it.
The only problem I had was the gathered bodice directions, but once I read thru the directions a few times and looked carefully at the pattern pieces, then I understood what to do. I sewed these two versions and I have to say they are both my favorites. My daughter, who was the recipient of the dresses, is very pleased that the dresses are so precise in the fitting and professional looking.
