The 1960's Make It Stop outfit, by Eden Ava Couture, is reminiscent of the 1960's beach movies. This hip PDF pattern features a midriff top with ruffles and trimmed in contrast bias tape. The top buttons down the back. The shorts sit at the hips and close in the back with hook and loop tape. They feature sewn seams down the front.
-1/4 yard cotton fabric for midriff top
-Remnant piece of cotton for the midriff top lining
-Three 1/2” buttons
-Single Fold Bias Tape
-1/4 yard polyester or knit fabric for shorts
note: the fabric that works best is polyester stretch fabric that was all the rage in the 60s and 70s. It has just the right amount of “give”.

This pattern was easy to follow, but I wasn't really happy with the fit. The shorts seemed to have way too much fabric in the back and actually hung down below the front hem line when put on the doll. I've used a lot of other shorts patterns with gathered waists and bought this one because I wanted a non-gathered waist, so I don't know if THAT difference caused the back to sag as it did.
I like the top. It looks so cute on the doll. Easy to make. Haven't made the shorts yet.
