Ivy Cape 18" Doll Clothes

27 reviews   |

For the modern, history-loving doll, the Ivy Cape is a must-have winter accessory. Full of delicacy, old-world charm, and undeniable elegance, it will keep your doll warm and cozy while she scampers from woodside rambles to holiday parties. This densely gathered cape features a machine-sewn mitered lining and center back hood detailing. It closes with two buttons and integrated button loops. This PDF cape pattern can be made from a variety of fabrics. We suggest using velveteen, corduroy, or a lightweight wool flannel. A rayon, silk or poly blend lining will work nicely to complement the fashion fabric.

Pixie Faire Cape pattern

I love the pattern, it is so full including the hood. I have repurpose a black velvet skirt into this glamorous cape for my 18” doll. I have not started to see it yet but the instructions seem very easy to follow. Altogether, I love it!

Cape for Brianna

This is a straight forward pattern ,with easy to follow directions. I used a soft wale corduroy with a plaid flannel lining. This cape is perfect for the Outlander book , Claire’s outfit.

Beautiful pattern, great result!

I was very impressed with the pattern I received. Purchasing and downloading worked perfectly. The cloak came out really nicely thanks to the detailed and excellent instructions. I found it helpful to put a piece of interfacing on the back of the small circle at the back of the cloak hood, especially for slippery fabrics. This gave that piece more structure and made it easier to put the hood together. I also found I needed to put a gathering line of sewing along the front edge of the hood to ease it to fit the lining. Aside from that, the instructions covered everything. It was fun to make something with so many extra touches; a really great pattern!

Ivy cape

While the final results were lovely, sewing the lining down at the neck seam was very difficult. There was almost too much gathered fabric to fit. I made the cape of cotton velveteen and satin.
