Cinnamon & Pixie Faire Team
I shop(ped) for for my supplies at JoAnn’s and Pat Catan’s . I was please with the selection and supplies available. Pat Catan’s was a great store until they went out of business.
I shop for sewing fabrics all over, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s, Walmart , Fabric.com, Fabric Shack, Fabric Outlet. For doll clothes, I use a lot of remnants and pieces leftover from sewing dresses for my grand daughter.
I shop for my doll patterns at Pixie Faire and some trims buttons on Etsy. Many shops do not ship to Canada. Pixie Faire customer service is excellent, the patterns are easy to purchase and very reasonable priced.
I shop for patterns at Pixie Faire and JoAnns. I was pleased with the prices and many choices.
I shop for all my sewing and crafting supplies at Hobby Lobby and JoAnne’s fabric. I was pleased with the customer service and prices at both places. I live in a very small community so neither store has as many options, especially for notions for doll clothes, that they have in in large cities so when I’m in the city I have better luck.
I shopped for zippers to make duffle bags for 18" dolls at MyNotions.com. I was pleased with quality and price of the items.
I shop at home sew for the hard to find doll supplies. The service is great and very reliable.
I shop at Hobby Lobby, Joanne, and on line. I order from a small quilt shop out of state as well as locally. Usually for fabrics, elastic, buttons and trim.
“I shop for embroidery and sewing patterns at Pixie Faire. Their designs turn out beautifully and the cost is so affordable. My granddaughter has made several of their patterns for her American Girl dolls. I am so grateful to have Pixie Faire because I have so much fun with my granddaughter sewing.
I shop for machines and machine accessories at Sewing Machine Plus. I have purchased a total of 4 embroidery and quilting machines from them over the last 6 years. I am always pleased with their customer service and knowledge of the machines.I shop for fabric and notions at Hobby Lobby and/or Joan Fabrics, sometimes find some cotton fabric at Walmart, but all those stores are not near New York City – Queens where I , live, so try to get as much as possible each time I am near one of those stores. I like Hobby Lobby because of the variety, so whenever I go (is a 1 1/2 hour trip) try to get as much fabric as possible, then I’ll find a pattern in Pixie Faire to use them (LOL). I have bought buttons, zippers and other notions in Wish.com, but they take forever to delivery since it comes from China, but was able to get really tiny buttons and many zippers, so it was worth the wait
I shop for fabrics at Walmart. I was pleased with the quality for the price.
“I shop for most of my sewing supplies at JoAnns because they’re basically my only option, locally. I am pleased that my local JoAnns workers mostly know me by sight and are interested in what I’m making this time. I do travel to a couple of other JoAnns locations because they have better options if I’m looking for specific materials.
I shop for sewing supplies at Home Sew, JoAnn’s, Walmart and MDG, and various fabric on line stores. I like notions, and good buys on fabric. So far have been satisfied with all purchases.
I shop for patterns at Pixi Faire and love that they always fit the dolls perfectly. for material I shop at Joanns,Hobby Lobby and WalMart. For other supplies I use Home Sew because the have what I need and they have wonderful customer service.
I love to shop at thrift stores, although I haven’t been to one since the Pandemic started. My favorite item there is vintage silk ties – Most are small scale designs and work well for my small dolls.
I dismantle them, saving the lining for other projects, , wash, hang on the clothes line and then iron smooth.
I’m Canadian and shop at my local Fabricville store. They have a wide selection of good quality fabrics. I could spend hours there just looking! I have a large stash of fabrics, so I try to limit my purchases, but it requires a lot of self discipline! I LOVE that store!
I shop for doll patterns at Pixie Faire because I find the following:
1. variety
2. quality of product offered
3. value for dollar(s) spent
4. and, if there is a problem, help is available.
I’m Canadian and shop at my local Fabricville store. They have a wide selection of good quality fabrics. I could spend hours there just looking! I have a large stash of fabrics, so I try to limit my purchases, but it requires a lot of self discipline! I LOVE that store!
I shop for all my sewing needs and patterns at JoAnne Fabrics or Hobby Lobby. They are always friendly, interested in my project and very helpful.
I shop for doll sewing fabrics and supplies at the local children’s resale shop, where everything is geared toward small. I especially love to cut up onesies and use them for doll underwear.
I shop for all my sewing needs and patterns at JoAnne Fabrics or Hobby Lobby. They are always friendly, interested in my project and very helpful.
I shop for fabric at Joanne ETC because they have a vast selection.
I shop for all my sewing needs and patterns at JoAnne Fabrics or Hobby Lobby. They are always friendly, interested in my project and very helpful.
I shop for all of my sewing needs at Crossroads Fabrics, which is the locally owned, independent fabric store in my community. It is a small business with a local owner. I only go to the big guys, or online if I am looking for something that Carla, the owner, doesn’t carry. I feel that we should all try to support our local small businesses, before they are all gone.
I shop for patterns at Pixie Faire. I was pleased with pdf’s and when I had an issue I wrote to Cinnamon and got a response quickly. I am always excited to get any news from Pixie Faire! Thank you Pixie Faire for all you do for us.
I shop for American Girl doll patterns at Pixie Faire. I was pleased with how realistic the doll clothing looks, and because of that how fun the doll clothes are to make.
I shop for fabric mostly at Joann’s, but I have a vast inventory of vintage fabric at home and use it most of the time. I like the selection at JoAnn’s but I do purchase elsewhere also.
I buy most of my doll clothes patterns at Pixiefaire. They have the best selection I’ve found anywhere.
honestly I love shopping etsy just plug in key words and it is amazing to find what I find on some of those shops!!! I also been utilizing amazon for some things…
I shop for a lot of my sewing and doll supply at Home Sew. I am pleased with their quick shipping time and personal touch. They are a family owned business with strong Christian values.
I shop for quality sewing fabrics and supplies at Sharynn’s Quilt Box. Great service and community support.
I shop for my craft supplies at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, and Joannes. Our Joannes was devastated by a tornado almost 2 years ago and has been closed. So happy they are reopened finally. I love the selection of fabrics for my doll clothes patterns from Pixie Faire
I shop for knitting patterns at Pixie Faire online. I was pleased with the variety and well done patterns.
I shop for knitting patterns for 18" dolls at Ravelry online. I was pleased with the variety but not all the patterns are well written. I have to be careful.
My favorite place to “shop” for doll sewing supplies is garage sales! I am always finding the most wonderful surprises—trims, buttons, laces, fabrics, patterns—all at a fabulous price! I love to interact with the people who are selling these treasures and tell them that I sew doll clothes and make special dolls for kids to love and cherish!
When you offered Cathy, the 7" Felt Doll, as a free Friday pattern, I wasn’t sure where to find appropriately sized and reasonably priced wool. I was very grateful that one of your patrons mentioned using thefeltpod.com. They offer perfect size and colors for the dolls and the animals as well as a wonderful variety of decorative felted pieces. They are prompt, reasonably priced as well as great quality. Since that time I have used them multiple times already. Thank you kindly for offering the Sewing Machines Plus gift card.
I shop at Joann’s for my sewing supplies. The staff is always courteous and helpful. When I check out they tell me how to use the coupons to get the maximum discount. The staff at the cutting table gives me advice on how to work with specific fabrics and tells me about new products to use for my projects.
“I shop for all sewing and craft supplies at various local stores and online. The number of places is too numerous to supply them all. I look for the highest quality and the lowest prices and love to shop sales. I have purchased at SewingMachinesPlus on numerous occasions and was pleased with each purchase and the customer service was great.
I just recently started sewing for dolls. I found patterns on Pixie Faire and found them to be easy to use and stylish to suit my grandkids. I love that I can go shopping in the evening and get the patterns I like so I can get started right away. I think I’ve found my passion for sewing after blowing the dust off my machine!
I sew for 18" dolls and have no local access to fabrics and supplies, so the bulk of my shopping is online, especially Etsy stores for fabric. I also have scored many fancy and quality fabrics at a local thrift store at $2.00/yd (yay!). I do shop Joann’s when I can travel there, especially for wool fabric.
This was a fun set of comments to read…thanks! I like so many others don’t need to shop much for fabric because of my stash and everyone that knows me unloads their extras on me including clothes which are fun to remake. A friend gave me $100 gc to JoAnns in June and I have only spent have of it….I vow whenever I go in that I will only buy what I truly need…lol Thanks Pixie Faire for a wonderful site and Happy 2021 to all!
I shop at Joann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Walmart for any sewing supplies plus my local quilt shop, Quilters Studio, plus The Quilted Crow in PA when I am up there. I also shop online at Home Sew. I shop sewing machine plus for my sewing machine needs for both my regular sewing Machine and my embroidery machine. I have had good quality service from the places I shop with knowledgeable staff and courteous service.
I ship my mom’s scrap box. She sews a lot for the granddaughters, and has the cutest fabric. :-)
I shop online (Amazon, Marcy Tilton, Home Sew, and others). All the fabric shop are closed in our area—not that were many to begin with! The only choice I have left is Walmart and I am not pleased with their quality. I do use them for fabric for crafting, but if I put in the time to make a garment—I want quality fabric!!!
Since I am a retired associate of Walmart I use my discount card and shop on line during this pandemic. Needless to say I am using all the fabric I bought while I was working for when I retired. I have stocked up on all my supplies like needles and such on line. Always fast delivery and free! Love Pixie Farie!!
I shop for wool fabric for sewing doll coats at denverfabrics.com. I was pleased withtheir selection and reasonable prices.
I shop for fabric for dolls at Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, and Walmart. I buy patterns at Joann’s, Pixie Faire and Etsy.
I have a variety of sources for sewing items & doll clothes supplies. I made lots of doll clothes & so I need a way to store them. At first I made my own hangers out of wire, but I couldn’t get them to lay flat, so now I order them online from https://www.mybrittanys.com/ This site has doll clothes hangers in the size for both 18" dolls & the smaller 14-1/2" dolls. And the ones for the 18" dolls come in lots of colors.
I shop for sewing supplies anywhere I can find what I need. Sorry but I can’t remember being pleased about any purchases. It is rare to actually find exactly what I want. Shopping online is horrible because you never know what your going to get and returns are a mega hassle. Fabric stores usually don’t have what I want either.
Living in a very rural area I shop at local sewing shop’s and when I can’t find what I need I drive one hour to buy fabric or notions at Joann fabrics, Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart. I shop for my patterns on Pixie Faire. I have 75-100 of them. They have such a great selection and I look forward every week to see what’s new in the shop. Quality is awesome!
I like to find my notions on Etsy.com and I have bought Velcro and zippers from zipper that doll.com for years. After reading the comments I have a list of other resources.
SORRY accidentally sent previous comment before finished so trying again! Please disregard my previous entry/post.
I shop for doll patterns at pixiefaire.Com!! I am pleased with the amazing variety, quality, and great deals like Freeby Friday!!
I shop for fabric for my doll clothes at thrift stores..one in particular, Paradise Bound. I get prom, bridesmaids, party dresses and use the fabric for my doll gowns. It is way cheaper than buying it from fabric stores, and I will get a dress and challenge myself to make a doll dress from it. The customer service there is great, it is a friendly store and some of their proceeds go to children in Guatemala.
I shop for doll supplies and sewing supplies for over 30 years at Home Sew. Their service is great. I no longer have access to fabrics locally.
I support local shops when I can, but otherwise mainly try to support Etsy shops for special items and sometimes for fabric, such as @ SassyandChicFabrics.
I haven’t had to shop for fabric during the pandemic because of my ginormous stash. I did order elastic online when everyone else was running out, but it never arrived until after my fabric store had restocked! Fortunately, I was sewing washable scrubs for my sister’s dental practice; I used new sheet sets and lo and behold…the elastic in the fitted sheets was 1/4". Yay!
“I shop for doll patterns at pixiefaire.Com!! I was pleased with [ tell us – quaility, customer service, or something else]"
I buy my doll zippers and shoes bottoms on the PixieFarie website the material I get from my sewing room because I have a fabric addiction! I am working on this very hard and have not been in a fabric store or brought any new fabric in almost 6 months! And I have donated a lot of mine to making masks and made 100s of them myself. But I still have lots lest you sew western shirts and doll dress!!!
I shop for doll clothing fabric at JoAnn’s. I was pleased with our local store for help in finding to scale prints.

I shop for doll supplies at several different places. I have purchased etsy, joann, fabric. Com and my machine assories at sewing machine plus, Amazon.
I shop for sewing or doll supply at Affordable Fabrics. I was pleased with their customer service, and low prices. For Quilting cottons I go to “Close to Home” here in CT…especially when they have a sale. They have great customer service, knowable staff, and a very friendly atmosphere.
I shop for craft/art/sewing supplies at yard sales and thrift stores. It is like going treasure hunting – you never know what you are going to find. I was pleased with the unexpected things I discover. I also pick up things at Walmart or occasionally online when they catch my eye. I like having a range of inexpensive supplies on hand and then don’t begrudge spending a little more money on something I really want to complete a look.
I shop at a variety places for my fabric. I buy a majority of my patterns online from different designers. There is so many to choose from.
I shop at Joann’s & Hobby Lobby for my fabrics for brick & mortar stores. For on line, I shop at eQuilter & Shabby Fabrics mostly, but have used others – Fabrics Store.com, etc.

I shop for snaps, rivets, zippers, bag hardware, etc. at Kam Snaps. I am impressed with the quality of their goods and execptional customer service in advising and instruction. They keep records of your purchase so they can advise you what will and will not work with your equipment.
I like to thrift fabric or upcycle my children’s clothing , and purchase from various shops in person and online. Depending on what I am looking for. But all of my patterns have come from Pixie Faire!
I shop online for most of my sewing supplies. I like sites that give you a good use for the object and then I find an excuse to buy it. I do purchase fabric online if I can’t find it locally, but I really prefer to touch it.
I shop for doll supplies at various places in person and online. ETSY shops and homesew.com have many supplies appropriate for dolls. I live in a small town so being able to find things I need on the internet and having things delivered to my door is very helpful.
I shop at Walmart for most of my sewing notions, their prices are fair.
While I haven’t had to shop for fabric a lot lately since I am trying to use up my stash, when I am looking for quality fabric, I like to shop at Winter Creek Cloth on the internet. The choice of fabric is wonderful and the customer service is outstanding!
“I shop for all my sewing and craft supplies at local stores. I was pleased with being able to actually see what things look like, feel like or the size.
I shop Pixie Faire for doll patterns, they are the best! My fabric is usually purchased at Joann’s. These past almost 10 months have been trying as I haven’t shopped anywhere except online. The majority of my sewing has been masks. I have tried to use up scraps for those. A few Star Wars prints were ordered from Etsy for some of those. I like to see the scale of the fabric and the feel of it too when selecting for dolls and girls. Looking forward to in person shopping soon,
I shop for most of my fabric in my stash. I worked for JoAnn’s for 13 years and didn’t bring home a paycheck (according to my husband) for the first five. But, I have always added to my stash with trims and notions from places like HomeSew, Fabrics.com, Missouri Star Quilting, and several Etsy shops. Pixie Faire and Lee and Pearl are my favorite pattern shops.
I shop for sewing supplies at Hobby Lobby, Walmart and JoaAnn Fabrics. The prices are really good at Walmart but I always get gift cards to spend at JoAnn Fabrics.
I shop online on Etsy and scrapbook stores for doll sewing supplies and hardware.
“I shop for doll sewing patterns at Pixie Faire. I was pleased with the quality of the patterns and the ease of downloading them." Although there are not many for Götz Happy Kidz, I can use a regular 18" doll pattern and reduce it to 90%, then lengthen the sleeves and skirt. This usually works.
I shop for doll supplies at my local Joann’s. I love their selection of fabrics.
I shop for quality items everywhere, but i do like this shop and i have to save to order as im on social security and i look for discounts and military discounts which are a big help and so are clearence items
I get fabric from goodwill and also from people who are throwing out clothes . They have starting to give me more of there clothes for me to use.
I shopped for my sewing machine, its annual tune-ups, repairs and anything else it needs at Marie’s Sewing Center, Lockport, NY. I shop for fabric at Spoonflower because you can submit your own design and they will print it on fabric for you. It means you have fabric that is uniquely your own to be used to make one of a kind creations.
I shop for general sewing supplies at my local Joann’s, usually using a coupon! For high quality cottons, I go online to Fat Quarter Shop (lovely selection and a half yard is exactly half the cost of a yard, not an increased price), Missouri Star Quilt (you can earn points on your shopping), or I purchase from Etsy sellers where I can also find fabrics no longer produced. I’ve found lovely delicate laces on Etsy, eBay, and in antique stores. I have quite a collection of supplies now that I really should shop at home!
I shop for fabric from my years of stash. I was pleased with Welch’s online for trim and many other online sources for notions.

This holiday season I shopped online during big sales at Stores like Kohl’s and Target and bought baby and children’s clothes and socks to match ones I bought for my granddaughters and made clothes from them for their dolls. It’s a great way to get licensed material like Disney characters.
