Sewing A Themed Wardrobe: Tiny Valentine Treat Bag Tutorial

What's a Valentine Party without tiny treats? Once you have your treats and tiny valentines, where will you put them? In a tiny treat bag, of course!

In Part 2, we add more Valentine's Day fun to our t-shirt project. This is a fun and easy project but adds a big impact to your display! You'll find a full tutorial video to follow along and free printable templates in the SWC Bonus section to use as well!

As a reminder, you can find the current months coupon codes and links to the downloadable videos in the Sewing With Cinnamon Bonuses section.

How To Make Tiny Valentine Treat Bags:

Supplies Needed:

  • Felt (one sheet is plenty, but if you want to create layered heart then several colors are recommended)
  • Optional - Felt Stickers or other tiny heart shaped iron-ons
  • Embroidery Floss
  • Embroidery Needle
  • 3/8" width ribbon for handle
  • Scissors or rotary cutter

Step 1: Cut out the templates. Create layered embellishment if desired.

Step 2: Mark the center of the Side piece, line up that with the bottom center point of the heart. Pin to hold in place.

Step 3: Line up the top of the side edge with the side to the Heart Front. Blanket stitch the Side piece to the Front around the Heart Front. Repeat for the Heart Back/Side.

Step 4: Cut the ribbon piece for the handle. 6" for large bag, 4" for small bag. Secure to the top of each bag side with a few small stitches.

Your tiny treat bag is finished and ready to fill with tiny candies and tiny valentine's!
