Hi Everyone! This April marks 2 years since the launch of Sewing With Cinnamon - Crazy, how time flies! I just wanted to take some time to thank you all for being a part of this community! It is only possible because you are here :)
I'd love to recap and review a bit - is that ok? I thought what better way to move forward into year 3 than to get your feedback and ask you what you think!
I created a survey and would love to have you take some time to go through it and answer the questions. Some are multiple choice, some are open text. Please be honest - I'm prepared to hear the worst, but honestly hoping for the best, haha!
I'd love to know you better, where you're at as a seamstress, what courses you've liked and learned from, what struggles you have, and how to make this community even better!

SWC Updates
We have a lot of great things planned for this coming year! April is a month with 5 Tuesdays, so we will kick things off next week, the 9th, with our new topic - Sewing Seam Finishes (with a sew along for the Mindil Beach Dress). We will look at a variety of ways to finish your seams using a standard sewing machine. You don't really need any special tools for this topic (although the dress has eyelets, so a crop-odile would be good to have). That's the beauty of it! You will want to have lightweight cotton fabric, sharp scissors, a good iron, pressing board or mat, and a little bit of patience!
Coming soon after, we will have these topics:
Big News!
I'm also excited to announce that I have been in conversation with Babylock and will be working with them as an influencer for their machines! Yay! So, I'm happy to announce that after all these years of not using a serger for my work - they have worked their magic, shown me the possibilities of the Babylock Sergers and I will be going to their headquarters in June to get some hands-on training! Then I will be practicing on the new machines over the summer and in September, we will have a Sewing With A Serger at the Smaller Scale!
Isn't that exciting!
I am so sorry I accidently hit enter by mistake and that was it for me, I couldn’t go back, Instead it now says I had completed the survey. I’m bad…….sorry again.
Thanks Cinnamon for all you do and for this amazing community. I don’t know how you have time for it all. Pixie Faire is fantastic too. So many patterns, so little time…. Only have two more classes to purchase and I will have them all :) Now need to catch up. Little Sue has been an inspiration. Got 2 quilts to finish, then I can really have play time and attend school at SWC!
Survey completed. Looking forward to hearing what the group had to say.
I’ve enjoyed all the classes with the Zipper class being the top choice for me. The hints! The hints given in the class has made that chore of putting in zippers soooo much easier! I usually pick up some hint or new way of doing something in each and every class. I’ve enjoyed them all. And the news of the Serger classes. You will LOVE them. A different way of sewing but they can do aooooo much. I’ve sewing on them for about 7 years. You will be amazed all they an do when you see all the feet that they can use…they are amazing!! Thanks for all your efforts!!
I only got thru half way and I must have hit the wrong key and it sent my survey. I’m a little bummed about that. The up and coming topics pond great. I have been a professional seamstress for over 40 years, owned and operated a custom sewing business. I am now an Adjunct Faculty member in the Fashion Department at Phoenix College in AZ teching sewing classes. I love Sewing with Cinnamin because I enjoy watching other instructors teach. I’m always open for learning new techniques.
Finished. Can’t wait to see what this year will bring.
I have completed the survey. I’m especially looking forward to the May topic, working with trims. You will love using a serger. I have a love/hate relationship with mine. I love it but hate threading it.
I finished it. I love all the topics and have learned from each one. Looking forward to the next few topics. One thing I avoid is buttonholes because of my machine. In one of the FB groups I saw that there is a pattern for use with an embroidery machine. The buttonholes were perfect. Made me want an embroidery machine.
Thanks for the survey. I hope the retreat idea actually happens.
I have completed the survey and I can’t wait for my broken sewing machine to be repaired to get going. Looking forward for the upcoming topics, they look promising, as always!
I’ve completed the survey. Thank you so much for asking for our opinions.
Finished your survey. Love the community conversations. Thanks.
I completed the survey. Thank you for asking for our input! I’m looking forward to the upcoming topics, but especially Serging on a Small Scale!! I took the survey before I read all the way through the blog and saw that topic…that’s what that I mentioned that I struggle most with; serging those tiny concave curves on a sleeve seam!! I’ve used a serger for years, and that’s the one thing that gets me every time on doll clothes!!!
I have completed the survey and I am looking forward to another year of Sewing With Cinnamon. One question about having a Retreat of members is an amazing idea. I would love to meet everyone in person.

I completed the survey. This class is amazing.
I finished it! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and encouraging all of us to go along for the ride.
Completed! With 7 of our 12 grandchildren having dolls of various sizes, I have truly enjoyed learning via your online classes. You and your team are awesome!
I have enjoyed renewing my sewing methods and learning new ones. I have been sewing clothing since I was 10 years old ( some 50 years) but I only started sewing doll clothes about 3 years ago. I love it!
I have completed the survey and reviewed the upcoming topics. I look forward to all your classes.
I’ve finished it! Thanks, Cinnamon, and thanks for the list of forthcoming courses. Very interesting as well as helpful. It is going to be a good year.
I still have trouble with invisible zippers. Sewing the second side is confusing as to how to turn the zipper. I have a serger but never use it because I don’t have a place to set it up in my sewing room.
