Easy Spring Headband for Dolls

Is it warming up yet where you are? Start gearing up for spring with this super easy headband!

All you need is some twine or ribbon, two pretty buttons (mine are shaped like flowers!) and an elastic hair band, preferably the kind without a metal join.

Thread the first button onto a piece of twine, then tie a knot around the button's shank.

Thread on the second button. Snuggle it up next to the first button, then tie a knot around it too, to keep it in place.

Next, thread a second piece of twine or ribbon through the buttons. This can get kinda tricky, but a piece of dental floss or other sturdy string makes the job easier. Just thread both ends of the sturdy thread through the buttons, then catch the twine in the loop that forms, and pull the twine through. Easy enough, right?

Tie both ends of the twine around a hairband, and cut off the extra. For the best fit, tie on one end, then try it on your doll before tying the other end.

If you're concerned about your buttons wiggling around, you can secure them at this point with a couple dots of hot glue.

And there you have it: a super fast hairband!

Thanks for joining us today! Be sure to let us know in the comments if you make this :)

The headband measures about 11 1/4" around, and yes, it’s sized to fit an American Girl/18" doll. Hope that helps!
