Got a pair of pants that needs some spiffing? This quick technique adds a pop of pizzazz to ordinary pants!

Find some leaf-colored fabric scraps, get out your double sided fusible (like "Wonder-Under" or "Stitch-Witchery"), and prepare to applique!
Cut squares from the fabric and the double-sided fusible. Then, use your iron and follow the directions to fuse the exposed side of the webbing to the fabric.
Draw leaf shapes on the paper side, then cut them out. You can freehand these, use a stencil, print off leaf shapes from the internet, or (gasp!) trace around tiny, real leaves :)
Roll up a towel and stuff it down the pant leg you want to embellish. Then, peel the paper backing off your leaves, revealing the other side of the fusible, and position them on the pants.
Using a press cloth to protect your fabric, fuse the leaves into place. Let them cool thoroughly before pulling out the towel.
You can go back in at this point and add decorative hand stitching, if you'd like -- but the fusible should hold the leaves in place.

My favourite thing about the fall leaves is one of my childhood games. As a child, I used to love making houses out of the fallen leaves. We used to make outlines of the rooms on the grass and then a group, we would play as a family living in the house with roles assigned to each person (Mom, Dad, children, the dog etc.) I wish I were young enough now to do it all again. At night the wind would mess up the house and the next day we would “rebuild” the walls and do it all over again. The huge maples would provide enough leaves for a multi-roomed dwelling.
My favorite thing about fall leaves…….since I live in Florida, I miss the beautiful fall leaves of my native Long Island. I live in North Central Florida and we have some leaves that change color but like the spectacular displays up North. I miss the season very much……
My favorite thing about fall leaves is the crunch when you walk in them. I love a cool brisk breezey fall day! It’s my favorite season. I don’t even mind raking.
We don’t get much Fall in Texas or too much changing leaves. One day it’s in the 70s and the next we could be in the 30s. That’s Texas weather. Changing leaves means the holidays are not far off. Start sewing for Christmas.
my granddaughter would love a pair of pants with leaves on them for her Isabelle doll. may have to make her a pair.
