Looking for a fun Christmas break project? Try this quick technique to customize a basic tee shirt!

To make this project, all you need is some fabric paint, cardboard, a paintbrush...and of course, a tee!
Draw a holly leaf shape onto a piece of cardboard. For reference, mine is about an inch long from top to bottom.
Cut out the holly leaf, and also cut a strip of cardboard. Bend one end of the strip, and glue it to the back of your leaf to make a handle.
Use the paintbrush to 'ink' your stamp. Do a couple practice stamps on some scrap fabric -- it took me a little while to figure out how to transfer the holly leaf shape most clearly.
When you feel confident, slip another piece of cardboard in the middle of your tee (to protect the back from any possible bleed-through), and go for it!
I decided to do an all-over pattern, but you could do leaves in clumps or pairs, or make several different sizes of holly leaves, or....!
Then, use the back of the paintbrush to make the holly berries. Let the tee dry thoroughly, and heat-set the paint following the directions on the package.
And ta-da! You've got a finished shirt!

It is difficult to choose just one favorite Christmas decoration. At this stage of wee little ones I would have to say my favorite is the Elf on the Shelf. It fills their heart with excitement and curiosity as to where he will land each day. But trying to decide between him, the Dept. 56 village, and our nativity set is difficult.
My favorite decoration are two handmade carolers, a boy and a girl, one about 12" tall one about 8" tall, their clothes made from stiffened colored burlap, over obsolete glass soda bottles, paper mache painted heads. From a dear friend over 40 years ago. She thinks a woman made them from a kit, maybe from the obsolete Lee Wards craft store. I have never found any like them or a pattern or anything similar to make them for my friends. Very unique. Absolutely love them.
My favorite Christmas decoration is my tree. Our tree is decorated with ornaments of special meaning. Things we have obtained as souvenirs, homemade gifts from our children, gifts from others, and a few that used to decorate my late grandmothers tree. Decorating this tree is always special as we travel memory lane.
My favorite Christmas decoration is my 39 year old bubble lights! My dad loved his bubble lights and when I got my very own tree in 1975, I had to have my very own bubble lights :)
It’s hard to choose! My favorite decoration might just be my Christmas village houses. I love them so much, I keep them up all year. The accessories, the colors, the lights, combined with the traditions of old, give our family memories that carry through to today. They remind me of what I love most for Christmas.
