This is a super fast, easy technique to add to your favorite basic tee!
Today, I'm using the free Liberty Jane Trendy Tee. It's super easy to sew up, and we have it available for many different doll sizes... :)

Cut out all your pieces -- and cut a couple pieces of matching ribbon. Mine are about 10" long, but you don't have to be very precise (you'll be trimming these down later).
Follow the directions in the guidebook to sew the shoulder seams, and hem the neck edge.
Then, find the middle of your pieces of ribbon. Pin one to the outside edge of each shoulder.
Hem the sleeves by zig-zagging over the hem edge, and turning it up once. Topstitch this single folded edge down.
Pin and sew the sleeves into the tee -- being sure you're sandwiching the ribbon between the sleeve and the body of the tee.
Trim and finish this seam, but be sure not to clip off any of the ribbon on the inside!
Finish your tee shirt, following the guidebook instructions (sew the side seams, hem the bottom, and add a closure at Center Back).
Then, tie the ribbons up into bows, and trim the ends off neatly. If your ribbon doesn't like staying tied, you can stitch through the bows once or twice to keep them in place.
And that's it! Congratulations!

I watched my husband tie his shoes, It is so different, he ties the bow upside down. Watching his mother is the way he does it. So looking down on her , he does everything in reverse. Stays tied!..,
My Mom taught me. I remember she also taught me how to make tiny bows using some ones two fingers and I would have to hold them just so far apart while she tied the ribbon into bows these were for sew on bows. She would tie the most perfect bows on our dresses with sashes. Love thus t-shirt.
My mom taught me how to tie a bow. This was not an easy feat, since she was left-handed and I am right-handed. She also taught me how to crochet and knit. When she was in a care facility and about 92 years old, she asked me to remind her how to crochet a ripple blanket. She went on to make at least a dozen afghans! She stopped crocheting a few weeks before she passed away, just shy of her 97th birthday. She was quite a role model.
It was my Aunt, who was actually my mom’s twin. They both left school and went into the rag trade in England. My mom was a cuyyer and learned how to use the huge cutting machines, that sliced through many layers of fabric, whilst my aunt besame the seamtress. Between then both they completed the outfits. My aunt used to take home piecework for extra cash and one of these jobs was making up bows for the little girls dresses. She taught my cousin and I how to make these tiny bows, as she sat all evening and ended up with piles of them by the time she went to bed. p.s. my mom taught me how to make french knots and to smock! I hope I win this pretty t shirt and I’ll tell my granddaughter this story, as I teach her to make tiny bows too!
