Summer Sportswear Continues! DIY Miniature Pickleball Paddle Perfect For Dolls!

Hi Everyone! For the month of June we're continuing with our Summer Sportswear theme with several new patterns, tutorials, and pattern hacks!

This week I have a brand new pattern - The Liberty Jane Match Maker Bubble Dress - ready to go! I'm loving this design, and so did all the testers! It's so simple and yet so cute! Perfect for a variety of outdoor summer activities, including Pickleball!

Here's a fun and easy DIY craft tutorial for making a Miniature Pickleball Paddle using foam sheets and other kid-friendly supplies. It's perfectly sized for an 18-inch Doll and makes a great pretend play accessory.

✂️ Supplies You’ll Need:

• 2mm & 6mm craft foam sheets (black, gray, or fun colors)
  

• Double-sided Tape or Adhesive Sheet

• Sand Paper or Foam Sanding Block 

• Mod Podge

• Washi tape or colored athletic tape (for grip)

• Pencil, pen, or market

• Scissors (or craft knife with adult help)

• Optional: stickers, or custom decals

Step 1: Draw Your Paddle Shape

1. Cut out the template provided. Find it in the SWC bonuses section or included in the Liberty Jane Match Maker Bubble Dress Doll Clothes Pattern
   

Step 2: Create the Paddle Core

1. Trace the template onto 6mm foam (once).

2. Cut out the paddle core.

Step 3: Cover with Foam

1. Trace the paddle shape twice onto your 2mm foam (front and back).

2. Cut out both foam pieces.

3. Trace the template onto the adhesive sheet (twice). Apply the tape or adhesive to the 6mm foam core and place the 2mm layers to each side.
4. Use sand paper or sanding block to smooth the edges, creating a more seamless transition between the layers.

Step 4: Add Details (Optional)

1. Optional: Outline the paddle with a marker or add stripes, initials, or stickers. Cover the entire surface with Mod Podge. Let dry overnight.

Step 5: Add Grip Tape

1. Use Washi tape or colored athletic tape to wrap around the handle like a grip.

2. Spiral it upward for a realistic look.

✅ You're Done! Let it dry, then place it in your doll’s hand and start the imaginary match!
