Here's my list of places to shop:
- Home Depot, Lowes, or other Hardware Stores - mini ornaments and mini apron
- Hobby Lobby - Ornaments and decor that is scaled perfectly. All the items in the giveaway are from Here, except the Starbuck Cup.
- Hallmark Gold Crown Stores - ornaments and Worlds Smallest Toys
- Barnes And Noble - Mini Kits and Mini Books
- Claires - Mini backpacks, bracelets and anklets that can be used as jewelry, mini soda lipglosses
- Target - mini ornaments, tiny dolls, pillows, even tiny Christmas sweaters!
- Gift Card displays, look for tiny bags, boxes, even aprons!
- Starbucks - tiny mugs, holiday cups, and tiny tote bags.
- Vans Store - Tiny Keychain backpacks with shoulder straps!
- Worlds Smallest brand, look for it at specialty stores (Hallmark, Half Priced Books, Fireworks, Fuego) and Amazon (link provided). Lot's of great mini replicas (Lincoln Logs, Polaroid camera, Rubix cube, yoyos, Nerf super soaker, Light bright, Etch a Sketch, and more!
This is a great place to browse online, unless you happen to live close to the Magnolia Silos in Waco, TX.
I visited The Magnolia Silos shop last year and picked up several holiday ornaments that are perfect for the 18" doll size. I found a Demo Day Hammer, Mini Distressed White Dishes (now they have teapots), Tin Watering Can, Canteen, and a Mini Wreath! Most of these things are still available on their website, plus some new items like mini teapots and mugs! Here are a few examples to show the scale:
Oh! And... it looks like if you go totheor website you'll see a popup to sign up for thier newslatter and get a 15% off coupon, plus they have free shipping on orders over $49...
Check stores like Target, Marshalls, Claires, Kate Spade, Michael Khors, and Coach for mini keychain purses. eBay is also a great place to find these! The sled and stocking were found at Hobby Lobby.
Another fun item that is available right now is the "Mini Brands" mystery toy. I've seen these at Walmart, but only in person, not online. They are around $5 in person, and if you happen to see them online, the prices are quite high. They are filled with tiny mini replicas of real brands. They're super cute! I picked up a few and have used them in some of our photos.

I usually sew for profit, but am taking a break to care for my mother who is 92 years young. I still sew when I can, but not as much as I would like. Right now, it is more for pleasure until I can get back to more full time sewing. Love to participate in all of these activities, however!
My intent was to sew for business. But I am having a problem following through. I always feel that my product isn’t good enough to sell. I also don’t know where to start. Do I try to put it on Ebay or Etsy? There are so many other beautiful items for sale. I wonder who would buy mine. I guess I lack the confidence in my abilities.
I sew for myself and as a business. Right now my biggest obstacle is time, not enough to make every thing on my to-do list. Retirement will be coming soon and I am looking forward to spending more time creating. I can’t wait to create some really cute holiday scenes with my dolls. I love to see what others are doing for their dolls’ holidays.

I want my hobby to become a business. My biggest struggle is forcing myself to use my time wisely and stop staying in bed all day. I ,as the say, talk a good talk, but Dont walk the walk. I have issue’s following through with things.
right now I haven’t sewn much, my intent was to sew for my granddaughter but she rather has so many toys and already has an 18" doll and lot of outfits she hardly plays with. My intent few years back when I started collecting patterns, and I took design and pattern academy, was to create business, and have gone through the exercises and learned a lot, but it fell by the wayside and I concentrated on art. I would like to get back on some schedule where I could practice and both. I’ve read few posts and can identify with many others who have difficulty in concentrating on the project over few days or weeks. I’m fine for a day or so, making an outfit or two and then even though they turn out fabulous, and I’m excited to do more, i don’t. I have few outfits that I cut up and need to finish. I got stuck on how to work with poliester, how will it hem, will it be too thick. I was making a cloak. Thank you.
