Hi Everyone! We've made it to the end of the Sewing Machine Presser Feet topic - Phew! With 17 video demonstrations, It's been a deep dive into the world of specialty accessories. I hope you've been able to pick up some new techniques for your sewing work!
As we wrap up the topic I thought it would be good to do a final Q&A and answer any outstanding questions you might have or simply help with the challenges you've encountered. I have two quick tip videos to share with you today. Both of these were either asked by a member or suggested as an idea. I am always amazed at the many uses and added efficiency these accessories can offer!
In the first video, follow along in the tutorial video posted below as I show you how to address the challenge of a seamed ruffle and the narrow hem foot. In the second video, follow along as I demonstrate using the button sew on foot to attach buttons over a hook and look tape closure.

Thank You for the “Specialty Sewing Feet” Tutorials, I feel I can finally get out my machines accessory case and not fear using the specialized feet!
I have so enjoyed these last two months of presser feet. Seeing how the ruffler foot works opens new adventures. I have a machine that will work with it perfectly ! I’ll be pulling it out of the closet and set it up just for ruffles! The edging foot has bee I challenge I have now conquered!

I have some of the feet you covered, and it is really nice now to feel like I know where to start with them even though I don’t have time to try at the moment (I burn your videos to DVDs so I can watch them in future when I’m ready). The ruffler foot video has made me decide I must save up for a ruffler foot ASAP! It looks like so much fun to play with, and would make gathering evenly so much easier! I have a feeling I would use it a lot. Can’t wait to see what next month’s topic is!
I read a tip online a while back when using the narrow hem foot, lift the fabric up slightly in front of the foot as it feeds through. The fabric feeds through more consistently and you have better control. I tried this and found I had better results and ease of use doing this.
