Our first attempt went really well. We used Pixie Faire 6 mm soles for 18 inch dolls and did not need chip board or gluing layers. The PF sole was very true to size for the 18 inch doll. We put a small hair band same color glued to back side of the top to help keep the shoes on the doll. The hair band had to be cut some to fit right. One thing to make sure to do is make the top of the sandals are cut in mirror images so they don't come out the same (two right feet! :0) And then glue one side first and let it cool. Fit the shoe to the doll to make sure you don't have to cut a bit off to make it fiton the second side. We ended up cutting some off on the outside edges, probably because we didn't have the three layers in the soles. We will make these again. Cute, and easy to make. Look nice when finished. And my 9 yr. old neice approved them by using them for the day on her AG doll. Nancy S.
This pattern was very true to the dolls foot size and was easy to do. I liked the look of these when finished. This was a well done pattern. I would recommend this pattern to others.
Fun! I had good time making these cute sandals. Easy to follow instructions.
These were super fun to make. Easy. My daughter and I made 25 pairs all together, for each of our dolls. I purchased chipboard at Hobby Lobby and cut my own bases. That was alot of work. But we had a great time picking out colors for the sandals. We even made sandals in the watermelon colors and used a sharpie to make seeds. These are our favorites. Two of the styles really needed a back strap, which isn't part of the pattern, but was easy to adapt and glue on. We are not done making more.
