1950s Circle Swirl Dress 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

9 reviews   |

This beautifully designed 1950s style dress by Keepers Dolly Duds looks just as great visiting near the punch bowl as it does on the dance floor. The dress features full-circle skirting, a wide boat neck collar, and notched sleeves. The dress is designed to fasten up the back with five buttons, but snaps or hook and loop tape could certainly be used instead. The simple bows and curved trim details give this special occasion dress just enough charm to make it perfect for a local sock-hop!

This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

      Great dress

The pattern was beautiful, and the instructions were very clear. The pattern listed all the materials I would need and the right size for them. I had to look up some terms I didn't know, but that was easily done. I'm going to make that dress again, I loved the way it came out.

      Easy Pattern With Beautiful Results

This pattern is very easy to use, has a great fit and the end result is very 1950’s stylish. I’m currently working on my second dress from this pattern and will probably make more because it lends itself to many possible variations. Love it!

      Love This Pattern!

I loved making this pattern, just as I've enjoyed all the patterns by Keepers Dolly Duds. Her designs always have that little "extra" to them, that make them special and different, and always suited to the time period and doll they're designed for. I've admired the dresses in her Flikr album that had similar circular swirl skirts with the bias trim, and was thrilled when she decided to offer one of the patterns for the rest of us seamstresses. Although I made the bow at the waist, I opted for buttons on the sleeves that matched the ones I sewed on the collar. As always, the fit was good, and the instructions clear. Thank You!!
