The sweater:
A bit of an oversized style. Knit in one piece until armhole division then front and both sides of back knit apart. The sleeves knit separately and then sewn to the armholes. It is a leafy pattern with a mixture of seed stitch with gives it a unique design. Back buttoned closure for easy dressing.
The beanie:
Knit flat with a back seam.
Stitches used: knit, purl, YO, skp, k2tog and k3tog
This PDF Knitting Pattern by Marinda Creations, is designed to fit popular 18" dolls such as those shown in the photos.
Recommended Yarn: Yarn - Weight 3 or 4 or even a Sports weight that will give you the appropriate gauge.
Example used: Stylecraft ® Special DK = about 70 grams (05.8 meters / 225.1 yards) as MC.
Colorway 1003 Aster. Stylecraft ® Special DK = about 30 grams (88.2 meters / 96.5 yards) as CC. Colorway 1005 Cream.
Tester used yarn:
Lion Brand ® Baby Soft (Weight 3).
Supplies Needed:
Yarn - about 70 grams (05.8 meters / 225.1 yards) as Main Color, about 30 grams (88.2 meters / 96.5 yards) as Contrast Color.
Other supplies:
• Straight or circular knitting needles sizes US 4 (3.50 mm) + US 5 (3.75 mm).
• An extra needle for the 3 needle bind off.
• Buttons x 5
• Row counter or a pencil to tick off the rows as you knit.
• Tapestry + ordinary sewing needle.
• Small scissors.
• Ruler or tape measure.
GAUGE: Stockinette Stitch
US 4 (3.50 mm) needles
12 sts & 16 rows = 2’’ (5 cm)
