Modeled after the popular wrap style of the 1940s and 1950s, Bobbie consists of a wrap shirt and a tulle skirt. The wrap shirt is full of options. Three different sleeve styles and two different band styles give this shirt lots of versatility. Choose from a sleeve that is pleated at the hem and gathered at the top, a sleeve that is pleated, or a puffed sleeve with elastic at the hem. Both the button front band and the tie front band can be worn with any of the sleeve styles. The elegant banded tulle skirt pairs beautifully with the wrap shirt. Using freezer paper as a stabilizer makes sewing the bands onto the tulle a piece of cake.
This pattern by Love From Lola is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

I loved this. It looks elegant enough for a party dress, but could be equally suitable for casual. And it's a blouse and skirt, so mix and match! The tie front which I chose allows for perfect fit on fluffy or slim dolls. Rather than cutting bias strips for the skirt, I used packaged single fold bias tape. I also made mine to look like contrast lapels and collar. If you do this like mine, make sure you can't see the outer bodice fabric through a light colored collar and lapels. I underlined my lapels and collar so there wouldn't be any show through.
