The Butterfly Frock is a simple, timeless dress. Although it has buttons up the front, there are no button holes to make. There are snaps hidden underneath the buttons. It's quick and easy to put together if you've ever made something with rick rack peeking out from the seams. If not, you can learn how while making this dress.

The pattern is easy to follow and the little dress turned out very well. I made it in white pique with teal rickrack. Then I varied the colors of the little buttons. The little girl who receives this will be so happy!
It all went very well except the shoulder straps or whatever you'd call them. I must have made a mistake with the seam allowance, they turned out narrow. I mean it worked out i guess, but looked nothing like the cover picture. Any ideas?
I made the Butterfly Frock pattern for the 14 in size dolls (heart for hearts dolls) ; super easy to make and cute as can be. Just make sure to pin your front and back with linings together so you don't end up sewing it backwards like I did. I'm Not a skilled seamstress,Lol!
I made this dress in a deep red pinwale corduroy and I used candy cane appliques instead of butterflies. The rick rack I used was white. I made a white turtleneck to go underneath. Let me tell you, it turned out adorable. I love this pattern!
