7th grade was my favorite. It was my first year in Jr. Sr. High school and I felt so grown up.
I had so many wonderful teachers but Mrs. Stevenson, second grade, stands out in my memory. She was sooo glamorous! She wore very stylish clothes and her full skirts made a wonderful sound when she walked. But most of all, every day she wore a gold locket on a long chain that she would open & snap closed out of habit. I wanted that locket & to look like her when I grew up!! Maybe that’s where I started being interested in fashion!
Hands down, THIRD GRADE! Mrs. Clark was both my classroom teacher at a rural school in Virginia and my Sunday School teacher. She was love personified in the best ways, such an encourager building us up from the inside out—loving but never putting up with nonsense. She looked to each child’s strengths, whether it be subject matter, personal storytelling, athletics, music, or mine—creativity. Because of Mrs. Clark, I had the courage to enter in a multi-county art competition and won for my age group. At Sunday School her gentle “nudging” me into G.A.’s helped me to learn many Bible memory verses I still cling to. Her love and guidance also helped me through a difficult time at home, as my parents were on the verge of divorce. She was my role model, shining light on the path that led to my becoming a teacher—eventually teaching third grade! I thank God at every remembrance of Mrs. Clark.
Grade 11, I made a couple of good friends then. I had been shy and reserved, I found my confidence.
My favorite grade was eighth. Two of my teachers got together to have a “serious talk” with me. They told me that I was a very good writer and should consider careers that would use that skill. Previously, I assumed that everybody could write as easily as I could. It never occurred to me that it was any kind of skill or talent.
I really liked going to school so I have a few favorite years but after a lot of thinking I’ve decided to say that 5th grade was my favorite grade. I had two wonderful teachers who genuinely cared about all of their students and I experienced the pure joy of reaching a goal through hard work and dedication. In two years I went from being in the “below grade level” reading group to being in the “above grade level” reading group.
my favorite grade was fifth.new school new friends great teacher. My favorite dolls at the time were Ginnys and Muffys..I was sewing for dolls then too
I’m torn between senior year and 8thj grade. Both meant a graduation loomed large. Senior year I was much more confident that I had a future.
I loved seventh grade – new and different subjects, and a wonderful home room teacher who also taught us copper enameling, of all things. And a Home Economics teacher who taught wood shop and metal shop as well as sewing and cooking!
All of them. In public school, I was lucky enough to have fantastic teachers!
Mine was grade nine, I don’t know why, but I found it easy, which was great. :)
Thanks for the giveaway!
My favourite grade was grade 2. I had the most amazing teacher, Mrs. Berry. She was so wonderful and kind. She left a lasting impression on me
Tough Question… I absolutely loved every grade! But learning all the songs & poems in kindergarten, helping and hanging out after school with my 6th grade teacher, and the hands-on outdoor learning in 10th grade biology stand out.
I have three favorites. First because I learned to read and write. My teacher was super sweet. Her name was Mrs. Lions. Back then, kindergarten was only for the rich kids. Next would be Junior and Senior years because I was a cheerleader. We were a small school and that was such fun.
4th grade. I had a Hawaiian nun teacher and she taught us new songs and traditions.
My favorite grade was first grade. I didn’t have many friends before that, and it was just magical. So many people to play with! And, my dad was a teacher at the high school nearby on the campus, so I was never afraid of being away from family. My teacher was so sweet and at almost 70, I still remember her name.
My favorite grade was third. Miss Harms was my teacher and she was so fun. It was her first year of teaching and she was so enthusiastic.
Second grade way my favorite because there was a library with all kinds of books to read.
I think 3rd grade was my favorite—I had a teacher who nurtured creativity and I enjoyed that year immensely!
My favorite grade was 11th. I came out of my shell and enjoyed the rest of high school. And I learned to sew!
8th grade. My teacher was Mrs. Stanger at Crozier Jr. High In Inglewood, CA. She ran a tight ship with love for all her students. She emphasized education and respect for others. I also remember she had thick salt and pepper gray hair with braids beautifully crossed atop her head. She had flashing dark eyes and always had a smile. Every 7th grader wanted her as their 8th grade teacher. I was one of the lucky ones.
Kindergarten…..it unfortunately pretty much went downhill from there
Except for my senior year, my favorite grade was any grade where I didn’t have to move to a new school in the middle of the year.
My favorite grade was the 6th it was the last year at our little school.
i loved my middle grades because they were the most fun…the years i got out of my shell and made a bunch of friends
I liked 5th grade. I had a teacher that introduced us to a foreign language and more music.
My favorite was 8 th it was my last year of normality. My father passed away September of my 9th
My favorite was 8 th it was my last year of normality. My father passed away September of my 9th
My favorite grade was the A+ I got in many of my classes. lol.
I liked kindergarten because I had a really nice teacher. My favorite grade was 9th Grade. I got to play basketball (which girls didn’t have many opportunities back then) And I loved all my teachers and classes. It was my last year with my childhood friends as my parents moved us out of state the summer following.
I think 8th grade was my favorite.
my favorite 8 grade and teacher who on cold days would open doors of classroom and we would get so cold her reason it reminder of days in city of Golden gate bridge
My favorite grade was 6th because I skipped it. Then I got to go to college a little early and study what I wanted to study. Way fun. But most of my dolls are in 5th to 8th grade and REALLY like the little books.
My favourite grade was grade 9 as I started a new school
my favorite grade was the seventh .
My favorite grade was 6th grade but really I loved school every year.
I think I would have to say that the 11th, junior, year was possibly the most fun. It was my first full year in the drum and bugle corp. It was exciting to be on the football field at half time and participate in a parade in downtown Houston. My senior year was, of course, full of many exciting events, but with graduation on the horizon there were stresses as well. We had special senior activities like the Football Banquet, Senior trip and Prom. The stresses were finals, picking a college, getting married, going to work and parting of many friends.
The 6th grade. Our teacher was in charge of deliveries and we were her sales people.
Marion
4th Grade – I loved my teacher and she worked hard to make school fun for us!
I loved every grade of school. I enjoyed going to school. I had teachers that believed in me and supported me.
I loved getting a new school outfit and school supplies.
Thank you Pixiefaire. ❤️ U
I enjoyed all grade levels… especially college where I excelled the best.
5th grade was my favorite, though not my favorite teacher. I ended up teaching that grade and loved every minute!
I loved my 5th grade teacher! Mrs. Hunter read to us every day after lunch and I loved it!
My favorite was 6th grade. We had our first home ec class, made an apron, a skirt and blouse with a Peter pan collar. We sewed button holes by hand. We had a few electric sewing machines and some treadles. Then we learned the basics in cooking. I still remember making cinnamon jumble cookies!
Thank you for the giveaway!
I would have to say 5th grade. My teacher was older, experienced and super patient, loving and warm. She highlighted our strengths, encouraged us to shine and also easily identified and supported us in areas where we were challenged. My classmates were lively, fun and engaged and there was a great deal of kindness and consideration for others.
In retrospect I realize that for many of us it was the last carefree year of childhood.
Thank you for the giveaway!
Thanks for the chance to win this!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Probably 1st grade.
5th grade because I decided to try to get good grades and so I did….before that I got in trouble for not finishing my assignments
My favorite year was 1st Grade
It’s a tie between Grade 4 and Grade 5.
I loved 7th grade for I was able to go to the “big” school and really had fun during those years, but also remember all the elementary grades with those music, dance and choir classes
Junior High and High school were my favorite years I made the Cheerleading squad every year! It was my passion. I went on to coach grade, school, middle school and high school for 25 years!
I loved school, but I think I best remember Fifth Grade and Miss Super. Great times!
My favorite year of school was 6th grade. I loved my teacher! Mr. Murphy helped to prepare us for Jr. High and was such a good teacher.
I liked 6th grade the best. We had awesome teachers who made learning fun. We also had science fairs in which prizes were given out for the best displays.
My favorite grade was a senior in high school. I was in love and looking forward to going to college—away from home for the very first time.
Maybe 5th grade since the whole school was only made up of 5th graders. Also, my class was school champs in everything. The benefit in living in a small town.
My most favorite school year was third grade. That was the year the Little House on the Prairie books came out — just as school was ending. My teacher let me take them home for the summer to read.
My absolute favourite year of school was my senior year of high school. I had finally found my stride. I knew who I was and I had made the best group of friends, many of whom I am still very close with to this day 40 years later, and I was happy!
I guess my favorite grade was third grade. I loved my teacher. We had two grades in one classroom so she was my fourth grade teacher too. Then she moved up to 5/6 grade so I had her two more years. We moved at the end of 6th grade and Mrs. Babin and I even corresponded for a little while.
In 6th and 7th grade, I had a great English teacher who recognized that I actually remembered everything from previous years and didn’t need all the repetition that classes at that age tend to focus on, so she started giving me hall passes to go to the library on those class days, allowing me to explore whatever subjects I wanted, engage in creative writing projects, and otherwise stretch my mind instead of being locked into the classroom box. Doing that let me feel more free to continue to explore a wide range of topics as I continued through High School and into college, leading me to a degree and a career I never would have imagined back then!
I think my favorite year of school was my senior year of college. I had interesting studies and dated the wonderful man I eventually married. We had almost 44 1/2 tears together before he passed.
I can hardly remember… most likely First and Second grade.
We don’t have grades in the UK but it has to be form 1 of the Grammar School (age 11-12) New school, smart new uniform and new subjects to learn. The best part was making new friends. That first day I made 5 new friends and 55 years later we are still the best of friends.
Third grade was my favorite. I loved my teacher, and I learned cursive!!!
My favorite grades in school was my high school years.
5th grade—my teacher became ill in September and had an older sub until Jan. 1st when the class was divided and I went to a teacher that would become my friend and mentor. She took me and other disadvantaged students to the monthly “Travel Log”, put on by a community organization. During the summer that year, she took me to local museums and the zoo, as well as out to her farm. She was the reason I went into teaching and I continued giving back to my students. I had a special needs 4-H club and special needs Girl Scouts unit. Their artwork was displayed at the county fair and at the nearby state fair. The parents were so proud of the ribbons their children won. I took my scouts to Chicago and to DC several times. Many of my girls had never even crossed the river into KY or gone anyway outside of our town. My 2 children are also teachers. They give back to their students too.
i hated school in the first grade i had a bad teacher i,m left handed and she used to make me sit on my left hand and try to write with my right, my mom and doctor went to school and got it strighted out but then she ignored me the rest of the year but in the 5th grade a miss whiting helped me like school and got me caught up. thank you to pixie faire for all the nice things you do
My favorite grade is 12th! I’ve had several fun music classes and also the chance to do a lot of sewing!
I loved high school thanks to Concert Choir! My senior year (1976) was during the Bicentennial celebrations and our choir visited Washington DC, and Gettysburg PA. It was a very moving experience!!
5th grade was the best year because of our teacher. He took a personal interest in seeing each and every student succeed. He always spent his free time on the playground with his students. instead of in the teachers lounge.
I guess my favorite was grade 3, because of my teacher, Miss Burnbreyer. Probably not spelling her name right, it was hard for us kids to learn. At first we all just called her “Teacher”. It is so funny thinking back on that. She was kind and was probably fresh out of college. She invited a small group of us girls to go to her apartment after school in June and then go to her mom’s big house which felt like an old mansion to me. She got married in June and told us what church and the time, so we could watch her go down the aisle. It was the 1st wedding I ever went to, in a big church in Detroit, Michigan.
I didn’t like any particular grades in school but I really enjoyed Nursing school. In a smaller class of Nursing students it was more fun even though it was hard work.
My favorite year in high school was 10 th grade. I had been taking voice and organ lessons at a girls school and that was the year it all came together to allow me to perform during chapels on Wednesdays. I was so excited to be a part of the program.
My favorite grade was 4th with Mrs. Woolsy. We were moved to a new school that year due to boundary changes. My favorite part was learning about dinosaurs and our project was to make a dinosaur pillow. I made a huge triceratops out of royal blue polyester fabric. I was very proud of him.
My favorite grade in school was the 12th. I had a most excellent English teacher ! He taught me how to study therefore making my college career successful. If not for Mr. Caudle, I would have flunked out!
I didn’t have a favourite year. I enjoyed my high school years because this is where I took my first geology course. I later majored in it in University and became a teacher. Mr. Turley was the best!
I loved the 4th grade. First year in school that I didn’t have a nun as a teacher.
Grade 2 I loved my teacher.
My favorite grade was 8th. My Civics teacher was a hoot!
I loved 4th grade. My teacher added Spanish to our curriculum and we would put on radio shows.
Sophomore in high school was my favorite. Loved my teachers that year.
I loved 6th! My teachers were wonderful and that was the year you could start most extracuriculars run by the school.
I hated school in general. I enjoyed college and LOVE teaching primary grades!
Sixth grade was the best. I had an amazing teacher who made learning so much fun.
I always enjoyed school, but my favorite grade was probably First Grade. I adored my teacher, Miss Beam, She has been an inspiration throughout my whole life.
Freshman at college. I knew what I wanted to do and I loved my professors.
Fifth grade was my favorite. My teacher that year had us doing slot of reading for pleasure. I still read am an avid reader.
Kindergarten! I loved school and had the best teacher, who later became a friend and fellow church member. We still exchange Christmas cards. Mrs. Lewis was the best.
I have 2 fav grades – 4th grade, because I had a great teacher and she had a fun reward system, and my junior year of high school. I had a great time with my friends that year.
1st Grade was my favorite. It was a small school, we had packed lunches, and got to eat outside when the weather was nice.
My favorite grade was first grade – a great teacher who made school a lot of fun.
Kindergarden was my favorite. My teacher was also the art teacher and she was the best. We did all sorts of fun stuff—made butter, hatched a chicken, put on shows for our younger siblings, etc.

My favorite was 11th grade. We put on a play, and the prom and our multi-racial class was like a closeknit family. I took physics and won prizes with the radio I built at the local and Greater St. Louis Science Fair. I had the best teachers and attended a small school. 12th grade was a close second because I made my wedding dress in Home Ec.
