How to make an 18" doll sized checkerboard

Need a quick craft fix? Making a checkerboard for your dolls will give everybody hours of fun!

You'll need two colors of fabric, a square of heavy cardboard, buttons for game pieces, and of course, Mod Podge.

A rotary cutter will make short work of cutting all those tiny squares!

Before you break out the ModPodge, it's a good idea to protect your work surface with a piece of waxed paper.

Once you have the board covered in fabric, it's time to make the checkered side!

To help place the 5/8" fabric squares, you can use a pencil and ruler to lightly draw in a 5/8" grid. Or, if you feel confident, you can just free-hand it. :D

Once your board is good and dry, grab a friend and start playing!

This is so cute! My twin nieces are coming to spend the night with me and I think we will have to make this as our activity. Thanks for the great free pattern and idea!
