Myy biggest sewing challenge is definitely working with knits. Combine an old (60s-70s sewing machine that refuses to zigzag and is questionable on stretch stitch with a recent transition from hand sewing to machine during lockdown and I guess you see the problem!

My biggest sewing challenge has to be working with stretch fabrics. I’ve definitely improved, but they take me significantly longer to sew than cottons or non stretchy fabrics. Another challenge has to be actually finding the time to sit down and sew.

My biggest sewing challenge is finishing. I’m good at starting projects, I’ll get excited, get a few days to work dedicatedly on something. Then something else comes up, I put the project down, and I’m no longer excited about it the next time I have time to finish. Maybe it’s past the season or holiday the outfit is for, maybe I’m just tired and don’t want to sew.

Right now my biggest challenge is learning how to use the buttonhole attachment on my sewing machine. It’s on my to-do list for this new year. I’m not a fan of Velcro as it has a tendency to snag doll hair and more delicate fabrics, so I’ve been sewing snaps on most of the doll clothes I make.

My biggest sewing challenge is sewing with knits. Ugh, how I hate that fabric. It stretches more than it should, it slips and slides, and looks nothing like that pattern. And staying focused is the equally challenging dilemma. I need to leave my phone outside the house so it’s not tempting to read the news or look on Pinterest for new ideas.
