I would love to take a pixie faire class that shows me how to choose and buy fabrics and trim. I still sometimes struggle with finding the right fabric I need and figuring out what will work for doll clothes-especially if I am ordering on-line. It’s so frustrating when I have an idea I am really excited about but then can’t find what I want to make the project!

I would love to take a course that would teach me how to work with stretch and jersey fabrics. I have been sewing since my teens but only use cotton fabrics. I have stayed away from Tshirt and bathing suit patterns because I don’t know the first thing about those materials. As a result, my American Girl dolls always go to the beach in shorts and halter tops!

I’D LOVE TO TAKE A PIXIE FAIRE CLASS THAT SHOWS ME HOW TO…apply my existing sewing skills to miniature projects, plus make doll-sized & aligned buttonholes. An Overview class would also be great, one that covers a wide variety of topics, so I could make a list of topics to delve into further. The Specialty classes PF already offers are lovely, but I’ve been reluctant to dive into a Specialty class when I first need to get rolling on the doll-sized basics.

I’d love to take a PIxie Faire Class that shows me how to design clothing for my dolls and the little ones that love them. There are very little patterns for matching outfits for the little girl and her beloved doll. I am presently sewing a dress for a little girl and her doll from her Great Grandma’s wedding gown. What a privilege to share in this family memory that is being passed down in this way. I know the little girl will love her new dress and that she and her doll are dressed in the same fabric as well in the same style. And, more importantly, I hope Great Grandma will be pleased to see her special dress make her Great Granddaughter happy. So, I would love to be able to design matching outfits for little girls and their dolls. Maybe outfits that reflect a career or hobby would be nice.

I have become quite the avid sewer on doll clothes. To me they are the most satisfying and the results are so pleasing. So many times I see an outfit that is either for an adult or child and would love to learn how to take that pattern and reduce it to fit the doll. The possibilities would then become quite endless and a whole new world would open up for me. Learning how to do chiffon is probably the hardest challenge for me along with doing a rolled hem. I have all the gadgets (sewing feet), just quite clueless on how to make them all work, along with knowing which fabric and needle.
