The most meaningful gift I made for someone was AG doll clothes donated to GIRL AGAIN, a nonprofit AG doll store in upstate NY that teaches job skills to young women who experience autism.
One of the most meaningful gifts I have made were costumes for my daughter’s ballet company. The girls were so excited to wear really gorgeous handmade costumes for the Nutcracker instead of the polyester/knit costumes they were used to wearing.
I do not know which of the gifts I have made would be most meaningful. I have made gifts for many, many years and all have given me pleasure to give and recipients were grateful to receive (except one and that may be the most memorable for the wrong reason….) ; )
The most meaningful gift I made was my sister in law’s wedding dress. It took a full month of sewing but came out beautiful!
The best is teaching the next generation my sewing skills. I worked with my granddaughter to sew a hand towel that hands on the cupboard door or oven door. You know the kind, it has a header at the top with a button to close it around the door handle. Her mother was so touched to receive it.
