For most sewing projects, standard sewing supplies are used and easy to find. For a variety of doll clothes patterns the supply lists recommend doll scale supplies and notions. Over the years we've come across a few of our favorite places to find these items:
- Home Sew - Check out thier Cinnamon's Favorite Things collection! Find 5" and 6" separating zippers in both nylon coil and metal teeth styles, narrow hook and loop tape, tiny buttons, and buckles.
- Zipper That Doll - Find tiny separating zippers and closed end zippers
- Zip It - Find a variety of colors of invisible zippers
- Girl Charlee - great selection of ribbing and knits

I shop for leather and buckles at the thrift stores. Home Sew has some nice lace, zippers, buttons and ready make shoes and purses nice price. I just shopped Doll Frills for headbands and Acrylic plastic shoe soles. They also have a couple of dies also.
I find doll sized notions (zippers and buttons) at Joann’s. A;though I have come across several companies on-line that specialize in notions for dolls, I haven’t bought from any of these companies yet.
I have the hardest time finding narrow braid and trims.
I shop for tiny prints on Etsy, also Joann’s locally.
I have the hardest time finding the right size zippers in the colors needed!
