For most sewing projects, standard sewing supplies are used and easy to find. For a variety of doll clothes patterns the supply lists recommend doll scale supplies and notions. Over the years we've come across a few of our favorite places to find these items:
- Home Sew - Check out thier Cinnamon's Favorite Things collection! Find 5" and 6" separating zippers in both nylon coil and metal teeth styles, narrow hook and loop tape, tiny buttons, and buckles.

I have the hardest time finding zippers and light Velcro. My favorite fabric store since all our Hancock Fabrics closed. These notions would thrill me greatly if I won them!
I shop for doll supplies like separating zipper, buckles and other needed notions at Joann’s and Michaels. I have found cute buckles at the dollar tree in the girls hair accessories. In the summer time, yard sales are a treasure cove for supplies. Basically everywhere I go I am on the look out for something to use in making 18" doll clothes.
I shop at Jo-Ann and at Walmart but I also have found supplies at thrift shops. The items at thrift shops can be taken apart and then I use some of the pieces.
I am new to making doll clothes and haven’t really been on the hunt yet. Taking note of all the ideas in the comments
I have the hardest time finding doll sized overall buckles. Finding Wellie Wisher sized notions is even harder.
