When I was a little girl growing up in Milwaukee, I attended my aunt’s wedding, where the Polish dancers did a special performance in honor of the occasion. I remember thinking there was nothing more beautiful then the ribbons on their beautiful regalia as they spun and twirled. I remember thinking that it must be the most wonderful thing to be part of that dance troupe and hoped that I would be when I grew up. That dream never became a reality, but I would love to have a pattern of these beautiful, traditional dresses so that my doll could have the honor.

I’d love to see outfits like Rosie the Riveter that honor the women’s efforts in WWII and the greatest generation :) The majority of the workforce in the aircraft industry in 1943 were women. And approximately 350,000 American women joined the military during World War II. They worked as nurses, drove trucks, repaired airplanes, and performed clerical work to free up men for combat. Women service pilots even flew planes from factories to military bases. There are all kinds of possibilities for costumes that remind us of the dramatic changes here at home during that period of our American History. Thanks again for the fun you have provided these past 12 days!
