My favorite sewing tip is to use liquid stitches or fabric glue to keep fabric edges from fraying.
My favorite tip deals with the modern stretch fabric that seems to stretch uncontrollably in 10 directions. Make a liquid paste from 4 tablespoons of multipurpose flour and 1/4 cup cool water. Dip really cheap tissue paper in, and lay evenly over fabric, as squared as you can make it. Let dry. This “sizing” can be cut and sewn. Then put finished product in sink of very warm water, soaking and swishing often. The “glue” and tissue paper dissolve and peel away, Wash again till clear. All gathering and easing and seam matches are as good as if you were sewing cotton. Great for bathing suits, lingerie and dresses.
My favorite tip is to store your printed patterns flat in an art portfolio. Plus use a binder clip to keep the pieces together.
My favourite sewing tip is to enjoy the process even if things aren’t going well. You are going to learn from mistakes and hopefully not do whatever you did wrong again.
Always read the directions and have everything you need ready to go.
