My favorite sewing tip or trick is to always follow the directions.

My favorite sewing tip is to use a mini iron when making doll clothes and press, press, press! Also, use a 1/4" foot on your machine to get the seams the perfect width.

My favorite sewing tip is take your time. Iron and clip as you go. Relax and feel the creativity of your project.

My favorite tip is to hand baste and then hand sew – especially zippers and tiny small gathers on delicate fabric. By the time I do these on the machine, there is nothing left of the fabric! Practice some hand sewing stitiches – there is a couture tutorial on Pixie Faire or just google it. You will be glad you did. Long hems and lots of ruffles are great on the machine but a lot of the bodice work can be hand sewn then top stitched on the machine. I find the items fit the doll better as I try on as I go for a more tailored effect.

My favorite sewing tip is, if I’m repurposing old clothing for doll clothes is, if at all possible, use a slim hem on the repurposed item for the hem on the clothing. It saves hemming such a slim hem and I can get the doll clothing done faster.
