I shop for my fabric pieces and lace and ribbon in my local thrift store. I live in a small community so going an hour to the city is counterproductive. I have used table napkins and table cloths. Bed skirting table runners curtains and remnants left others. There is no end to the possibilities if you just look at the item as a piece and imagine it as a doll dress. Sometimes a decent garment at the thrift store will also inspire. Maybe it is the colour or maybe the trim or buttons. I always look at these things with the dolls in mind.

I shop for doll shoe supplies right here at Pixie Faire. They have everything I need.
I have the hardest time finding fabric with designs (plaid, flowers, etc.) at the scale of 18 "dolls, as well as opening zippers of up to 4 inches, both online and in fabric stores. In addition, the very few times that can be found online, the minimum purchase and / or shipping costs are discouraging.
