Freebie Friday, (Help Us Decide), Which Pattern Should Be Free Friday January 2nd, 2015

Hi everyone,

On Friday (January 2nd, 2015) we'll have one of the following four patterns available for free. Help us decide by voting in this poll, then come back to Pixie Faire on Friday to download the winning pattern for free. The winning pattern will be featured on the home-page slider so you can easily see which pattern won and download it.

This week we're featuring the work of Cinnamon Miles and the Liberty Jane Clothing Tee Shirt Collection designed to fit 18 inch American Girl Dolls.

More About Cinnamon Miles, Liberty Jane Clothing: Cinnamon is the co-founder of Liberty Jane Clothing and Pixie Faire. She's also the author of several bestselling books on fashion and sewing. She strives to design on-trend clothing made to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl® and other doll types too.

Vote Now:

Here is more information about each pattern:

The V-Neck Tee For 18 Inch Dolls: A v-neck tee is a great addition to any doll’s wardrobe! Liberty Jane is excited to offer you this PDF sewing pattern to teach you how to do this “lapped v” technique. This is a perfect project for using upcycled t-shirts that you might have lying around. There are 11 pages of full color step by step instruction as well as 1 page of text only summary of  instructions to save on printer ink! These full color easy to follow instructions walk you through each step in completing a V-Neck Tee for your American Girl ® dolls.

The Sorrento Top For 18 Inch Dolls: This popular top from the Liberty Jane Spring 2011 International Collection has been revised for 2014 to include the By The Boardwalk variation! We've added 8 pages of new instruction to include two complete variations. The 5 strand braid instructions with full color steps are included as well! The Sorrento Top is designed to fit an 18 inch American Girl ® Doll! This design is easy to sew and works with a variety of trims! Have a hard time finding trims? The braid variation can be made without any trims, simply use strips of scrap fabrics to create a unique look. Tips included for sewing with knit fabric which will help prevent stretching and produce evenly stitched hems! Suggested fabrics include: lightweight knit (rayon spandex), rayon, and silky blends.
The Mini Skirt For 18 Inch Dolls: Classic mini skirt style! If your AG Doll doesn’t want to wear a classic denim mini skirt, we’d be shocked! Have you asked her lately? Is she permanently stuck in 1774? Maybe you should let her out, just for an afternoon! If you take her to the mall, she’s going to see Hollister, then you’re going to be in big trouble. She’ll never want to put that long dress on again. So her knees show, is that really such a big deal when you’ve got pretty and lean plastic legs? It’s your choice of course, but we think she might like it! And the best part of course, this fun mini skirt is simple to make. Once you learn how, you can do dozens of variations with different colors and fabric styles.
The Off-The-Shoulder Tee For 18 Inch Dolls: This top was featured in the 2011 Fall Collection. It is easy to make and you'll be thrilled to know that sewing with knit fabrics in this design is not complicated at all!  It is designed to hang loose and be layered over a tank top.

Sorry I was told my notice was delivered although I hadn’t finished with my entry. I was explaining why I decided to enter your contest and start sewing clothes for my grandgirls’ dolls since the store bought ones are so dreadfully expensive.. I am going to dig the sewing machine out from under the bed in the guest room and learn how to thread it——then perhaps I will be able to begin my first project which is totally dependant upon whether I win a pattern and what it is!! Of curse.otherwise I will need to purchase some and I also hope to make some on my own using clothing they already have.
Thanks

Since I replaced my 45 year old sewing machine, I haven’t even learned to thread the replacement I purchased! Sewing clothes for my grandgirls’ American Girl dolls will get me started sewing again. I had to quit working a few years ago for medical reasons and then I suddenly lost my husband of 43 years. That was a terrible blow to the family especially since we all thou

I’m glad you’re still continuing Freebie Friday, but I’d really like to see some different patterns offered rather than cycling through the same patterns that were offered throughout last year. It’s depressing to see the same stuff again. :(

Seems like we’ll be getting the V neck since that what most keep commenting, but I’d really rather have the Off the Shoulder Tee or the Sorrento top. I think they are much for sophisticated looking and I like them better.
