I tried to purchase 2 patterns from 1 designer in order to receive the free bundle. I typed in the code and it would not accept it. My total cost for the patterns was more than $15.
I was cooking and eating and cooking and…so I missed wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving and to thank you for all you do to help us do (and perfect) what we love: sew for our dolls! To have one place to learn, shop and get weekly free patterns guarantees that this is my happy place. Blessings to you all!
What an amazing group of free (discounted patterns). I’ve been following this site now since before the Friday Freebies began, so I’ve amassed quite a collection of patterns. Consequently, I’m not downloading so many any more, since I have so many, either purchased or free. My Granddaughter has somewhat outgrown her collection of AG dolls, so I’m not sewing the cute clothes for her now. Still collecting the new patterns though, since there is another GD coming along right behind her, and will be playing with those dolls in a couple of years. (and I keep trying to win one of those free AG dolls just for myself!, so I have a good excuse for making clothes!)
So sad that some people do not appreciate the giving spirit, and complain that what is offered is not really what they wanted, or not good enough, or that they already have it. There seems to be a lot of whiny spoiled adults in the world!
I for one, extend a big Thank You to Cinnamon and all the designers for your generosity! You have provided many hours of pleasure for those of us who sew your lovely offerings, and uncounted hours of pleasure for the girls of all ages who enjoy those creations.
I don’t take the opportunity to thank you each week for the individual patterns so I want to thank you now for offering free patterns each and every week. What a blessing you are.
It’s very distressing (every week) to see the comments that are complaining about various things to do with these freebies & other promotions. It doesn’t matter that you may not have that doll, already have the pattern, or anything else—because there are many others taking part who don’t and everything can’t be just for each one of us alone. Out of roughly 52 free patterns a year, I imagine that most people can use most or many of them! Anything that promotes sewing to more people these days is a win-win to me! It’s time to remember Mom or Grandma’s old saying: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.". It’s still very valid today, along with the Golden Rule. Look it up if you don’t know what that is!
As far as these Black Friday deals—they are roughly like getting 40-50% off patterns if you look at it from the total view. I just bought 3 patterns, got 3 free from the designer, plus the 1 free from Liberty Jane—so 7 patterns for what I spent of $15.97. That’s around $2.28 each for up to $5.99 each patterns! How can that not be a deal to anyone or something to complain about? These designers gave up those 2 or 3 patterns for free (or cut all their patterns to $2.28 each for me, whichever way you look at it. Sure, Walmart, etc. does that because they have huge markups from wholesale anyway—but how many times do you see small independent sellers give half off?
So—a huge thank you to all the designers and Pixie Faire for my great deal today!! It’s appreciated very much!
P.S. For the lady who can’t get her bonus free patterns, you must click the Checkout button before finding the area to put the coupon code in for the discount. You can’t just look at the total on the first page. Each designer’s coupon code is listed at the bottom of their freebie offering. Click the freebie package open like any other pattern and add it to your cart, then add at least $15 of that designer’s patterns. Then add the LJ sweater pattern which comes up as 0.00 and click checkout. There’s where you put the coupon code in and your total will reduce and you can go on as usual with the purchase. Works perfectly!
If you are buying specials from more than one designer, then I imagine you would need to do each one separately as you can only enter one coupon code per purchase and each designer’s code is different. Little trouble to get so much!
Sorry for the venting, but really—how can you complain about freebies? Off to do something cheery now!
