I’m thankful for many things, but one I want to mention is that I am thankful for the opportunity to finally start building my small business at home using my creativity and Pixie Faire patterns to make adorable doll clothes with my own unique business label. I’m so thankful for the patience my 4H teacher had with me. Within 2 years I sewed a skirt and a lined blazer. I was so proud of that outfit.
Despite the loss of two brothers this year and the recent need to place my mom in a special care facility, I am thankful that my remaining brother and I are able to be with her each day and with God’s help will keep her spirits up and guide her through this difficult end of life journey. I am thankful for the rest of my family as well as my “sewing family” that I would never have known had I not joined Sewing With Cinnamon. Those extra prayers are such a comfort at a time like this!

I’m thankful for the Singer sewing machine my dad bought my mom in 1955, during her pregnancy with me, to sew my baby clothes. She said when I got older I’d sit on the attached fold-out top and play with buttons and thread while she sewed. I believe that may have begun a life-long love of sewing! I continue to create things on that very machine today.

I am so very thankful that we finally have the answers we have need to get our 16 year old daughter the help she has desperately needed. After years of been violently bullied by kids at school and not understanding why our beautiful little girl reacted the way she did to the violence we now know that it was because she is Autistic and unable to process these horrors the way we would.

I am thankful for my family. We are doing Thanksgiving at my house again for the first time in 3 years. Family health issues, then Covid have kept us apart that long.
