Free Doll Clothes Pattern (Help Us Decide) September 8, 2017

Hi everyone,

On Friday (September 8, 2017) we'll have a free doll clothes pattern available from Jane Ruhl, the designer behind the Sweet Pea Fashions Brand

More About Jane Ruhl and Sweet Pea Fashions: Jane hails from Louisville, Kentucky. A mother of two grown daughters, Jane has been sewing and crocheting for nearly half a century. She retired from a 32-year career as a civil engineer to begin a new pastime of playing with dolls. Because of Jane’s engineering background, she brings problem-solving aptitude and a visual style to her patterns. You will always find lots of photos and illustrations in her patterns, ensuring that you will have success the first time you make them.

Help us decide which one of these fun patterns should be free by voting below. Then come back to Pixie Faire on Friday to see which pattern won and get the free download.

Here is more information about each pattern:

The Carmen Crocheted Espadrilles Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: You can crochet an adorable pair of espadrilles with this PDF pattern from Sweet Pea Fashions!   The top of this shoe is crocheted in two simple pieces connected by an elastic strap to hold the shoe firmly on the doll’s foot. The vamp is strappy and crocheted in a semicircular shape. The heel cup is a simple trapezoidal shape made of single crochet stitches. The completed shoe is sewn to a prepared insole, and glued to the outer sole. The top can easily be embellished with beads or buttons.

The Elena Crocheted Shoes Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Elena PDF Shoe Pattern will help you create an adorable crocheted slip-on shoe for your 18" doll.  The top features a crocheted lattice, perfect for pairing with summery fashions.  The top of the shoe is crocheted in two simple pieces that are sewn together. It is then sewn to a prepared insole, and glued to the outer sole. Recommended Fabrics:  All kinds of yarn.

The Sofia Crocheted Slip-Ons Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: This PDF pattern will help you crochet a beautiful pair of slip-on shoes for your 18" doll.  In this pattern, the top of the shoe is crocheted as a single piece. It starts with a triangular “Cathedral Window” motif for the top of the shoe, then the sides of the shoe are added. It is then sewn to a prepared insole, and glued to the outer sole.

The Estrella Slip-Ons Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: This PDF pattern is for a slip-on shoe crocheted with three colors of thread featuring a star motif on top. These cute shoes can be made in red, white and blue to go with a patriotic outfit, or you could make them in ocean hues to remind you of the starfish you found while beachcombing. Whatever colors you choose, you will love the results.

Your sandals are all so sweet. I’d love to vote. I’ve tried all day. There seems to be a problem with the voting link this week. Instead of an option to vote, all I see from any entry point, Facebook or Pixie Faire directly, is the current voting percentages for each choice. I didn’t even receive my usual email link to vote directly like I usually do. If I could, I’d vote for the Sofia. It is just precious. Thank you for this week’s entry, whatever happens. God bless.

Guess it’s time to dust off the crochet hooks and get busy with a pair of these cuties. They are all beautiful, but I voted for the Elena. It seemed more straightforward than the others for my rusty skills. Thank you, Jane, and “GO CATS!”—-both my kitty and the UK variety…
