More About Craig In His Own Words: "I currently live in a pastoral community in southern Tennessee. My mother worked in the garment industry and my father worked as a sewing machine mechanic, one could say sewing is in my blood. My first job at the age of 16 was working in the cutting room of a garment manufacturing company. Growing up my mother made most of my and my brother’s suites.  She encouraged my love of textiles and couture finished garments. I begin sewing for children when my youngest niece, Hailey was born. I always made her coordinating church dolls to go with the outfits that I designed for her.  Soon, I submitted me first pattern to Sew Beautiful Magazine, an international periodical. Since that time many of my designs and editorials have been featured in Martha Pullen’s magazines and heirloom doll clothing books.  I have taught doll fashion and heirloom sewing at many fabric shops and clubs around the middle Tennessee area."

More About Each Pattern:

The Marlene Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®:  The Marlene Dress© is the fifth pattern in a series of seven in the Tribute Collection. The dress design features a boat neck bodice with a natural waistline: the dress may be made with or without the sleeves as well as the heart shaped collar and is closed with a button-up back. Snaps or hook and loop tape with mock buttons may be used as an alternative to buttonholes for easy dressing and undressing. The dress features a straight hemline that you may choose to embellish with embroidery as a feature design element. The dress is available in three different skirt lengths: short, knee and tea. The dress is designed to fit 18” dolls such as American Girl Doll®. Also included in the pattern is a free Diamond & Bow hand shadow work embroidery template. The dress requires some hand finishing to achieve a couture finish.

The Gloria Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®:  The Gloria Dress is the fourth pattern in a series of seven in the Tribute Collection. The design features an extended waistline dress with three bodice variations: A V-neck front with a diamond cutout in the back bodice, a V-neck front with a full back, and a scoop front and back bodice. Each bodice may be made sleeveless or with one of the two sleeve patterns provided (a short puff banded sleeve or the half chevron sleeve). The chevron sleeve may be lengthened or shortened if you choose. The dress has two skirt styles: a straight hem and a shaped chevron hem in three different skirt lengths: short, knee and tea. The dress is designed to fit somewhat loosely on 18" dolls such as American Girl®, and is closed with a button-up back. Snaps and mock buttons may be used as an alternative to buttonholes for easy dressing and undressing.

The Lillian Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Lillian Dress is the third in a series of seven in the Tribute Collection. It’s a waistline halter dress with three different skirt lengths: short, knee and tea; that is enhanced with an impressive arc and diamond-shaped bias appliqué. The dress bodice stands out with a scooped front neckline and a snap closure front with mock buttons, for easy dressing and undressing. The back of the dress is open with vertical straps as an added design feature. The dress is designed to fit snugly on your doll.

The Mary Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®:   Mary is a double-breasted waistline dress with two distantly different looks. The diamond dress has a diamond shaped cutout back, sleeve and hem. The lattice work dress has a rectangle cut out with lattice shaping in the cutout The sleeves of the tulip sleeves are joined at the hem with a V shape to accent the lattice shaped hem. Also included is a camisole and petticoat designed to highlight the bodice backs and hemline, which would work well as a cute summer outfit.

I picked the Mary pattern and I hope I can make most of the others with the basic pieces of that pattern, Such cool ideas that no matter how long I’ve been sewing I never would have thought of. They are great designing projects. I can’t wait to start them!! Thank you Craig!

I vote for the Lillian Dress! I love it! The back design is so unique, and the applique really sets it off, especially with the shoes. They are all gorgeous, and the decision was difficult. I have the Mary Dress which is beautiful. It was difficult to make, but worth every minute. A great design and a BIG THANKS to Craig!

The Gloria dress has so many options and can be used for so many occasions. Dressed up or dressed down – even costumes. How elegant it would look with a double or triple-layered skirt of different lengths – even the sleeves.
