More About Cherie: I have been sewing since I was about 4 years old. I learned to sew at my mothers knee. I learned to sew Barbie clothes not by hand but by machine. I remember when I was about 10 seeing an outfit that my Grandmother had made for her Barbie that she had done completely by hand and thinking why would anyone take that kind of time. I learned to crochet at age 7 again under my mothers watchful eye. I also learned to knit but as crochet builds faster knitting fell the way of hand sewing I do if needed. I am the wife to a software engineer and mother to 4 daughters that I home schooled for most of their elementary years. When I am not designing and writing doll clothes patterns I work as a teachers aide in a private school.

The Kara Shoe Pattern For 18" Dolls: These simple open toe flats for 18" dolls have a twist - they are missing one side of the shoe! They are super easy to make and take a minimal amount of fabric to make.

The style looks modern and casual, yet it is also a great style for Hispanic outfits, even period designs for Josephina. I think this style will complement modern dolls outfits too, especially summer wear and pants too. It looks like another pattern is getting more votes, but I’m rooting for this cute and versatile design.
